  • It was designed by the chinese ambassador in order to increase china's wealth. It destroyed infastructure in the form of vehicles, bought new cars using chinese credit(which will have to be payed back with interest), and sent most of the scrap metal to china, which increases china's wealth. I agree with the previous posts. Although I oppose state run health care on principal, the Federal government has no business in it. It should be left to the states.

  • Excuse me over 1/2 of those 46million are illegal aliens (thank you).

Cash for Clunkers just got people into more debt. Congratulations-all those cars will be repossessed soon..

  • the 46 million figure does not include illegal aliens. but for the sake of arguement, let's say it does. so then 23 million americans with no available options for health insurance, should just tough it out? 23 million americans is ok with you???

  • There are other solutions rather than deform the "Gold Standard" American Health Care industry that the whole world comes to America to benefit-

It is very obvious, by the amount of people speaking out, that they dont want to be forced to take govt health care?? They could revamp their bankrupt Medicare program for the people that are in serious need instead of deforming the best system in the world..

  • But labour is the only force which binds man to the soil it is the basic energy for the creation of national culture. This is we are not aware of missing it. We are a people without a country, without a national living language, without a national culture. We seem to think that if we have no labour it does not matter - let Ivan, John or Mustafa do the work, while we busy ourselves with producing a culture, with creating national values and with enthroning absolute justice in the world.

  • Healthcare version of "cash for clunkers"....."Break a leg, get a heart".

  • A $300 million cash-for-clunkers-type federal program to boost sales of energy-efficient home appliances as washing machines and dishwashers, but its probably not enough to lift companies such as Whirlpool (WHR) and Electrolux out of the worst down cycle in the sectors history. The program authorizes rebates of $50 to $200 for purchases. The money is part of the broader economic stimulus bill passed earlier this year.

    GOD HELP US...

  • A fair comparison? I got a fair comparison - Pop Warner Team A didn't do well against Pop Warner Team B this past Saturday and based on this data the Dallas Cowboys and San Diego Chargers will not make the play-offs.

  • Who is this ignorant person? Social Security, Medicare are appreciated. Sounds like a Neocon nincompoop! However there may be some truth with this with regards to some government operations, i. e., the "Long War" which awaits us in Af/Pak, and the Financial "controlled demolition" in which Americans were panicked into accepting the bitter medicine of the Chicago boys. Single payer is not "socialized medicine". 86% of Canadians prefer what they have. Maybe they know something that we do not.

  • Whenever the Federal Government gets involved in the private sector bad things happen. That's a fact.

  • Only if they allow the republicans to cut back the program's budget in the same way they did cash for clunkers.

  • No it's an example of how my private run health care is going right now. It took me just over 3 weeks to get in to see my doctor this last visit and not only that this whole idea of being able to see your doctor the same day or even a day or 2 days later is laughable. I have never been able to, it's always take at least 4 days to 2 weeks. So where does this BS come from when people say we can see our doctors the same day?

  • Germany and Switzerland have pretty good healthcare. One can go to a doctor's office and be seen within a few hours--maybe go shopping somewhere in the meantime. Specialists are no problem either, and believe it or not, personal bankruptcy is not necessary! Additionally, you can buy services with cash at reasonable prices--almost as cheaply as in America for, e.g., MRI's, dental, cosmetic surgeries, etc. In Germany, general living costs are cheaper than US, so small diffs don't matter.

  • Being wait-listed is not a problem, since you can buy services on the private market if necessary. Not too expensive. One of my colleagues got wait-listed for some type of brain/blood clot problem. It would have cost 1,500€ to get a private surgeon right away. Such a small amount, but he stupidly declined and had a stroke or something like that. Bad choice! ...but at least he had a choice.

  • And if you can't get care in own country, you can go to another EU country. You just have to pay cash...which you might have to do anyway in home country.

But realize, European countries are small, so good care is possible. I wouldn't trust a big American-size national govt to regulate my h/c system. Where would you go if it fails Mexico? The individual states could do h/c much better, with competing models--see which state does it best, then others copy it.

  • LibertaerUeberAlles:

It's refreshing to see sensible propositions regarding this issue. Thank You. According to the way this country was originally founded, that is exactly how it should be approached. The Federal Government should have NOTHING to do with healthcare. Most things, including healthcare, are better served at a more local level. I think if the states started to secede, it would send a powerful message and we would begin to see some real changes for the better.

  • God hates Communism. :-)

  • fucking national healthcare

  • HOLY SHIT free money was successful? I didnt see that one coming

  • Ah but as we all know too well .. NOTHING is free. And since the money is basicly worthless these days we will be paying for this for a LONG time. I cant help but chuckle when I think of all the people who baught cars because of this, and knowing that they may not have jobs tomorrow to pay for the car. Once again we will have banks that handed out bad loans and once again asking for a bail out.

  • I find it funny how the Government dose cash 4 clunkers 2 put better MPG cars on the road. Then waits untill the moneys is gone and has Government motors announce that they will have a 230 MPG car out in the next few months. Now thats government thinking for you!

  • America's fiat-money Keynesians sure seem in a rush to consolidate and centralize the population, all done to benefit some of the richest banksers the world has ever seen. How sad it is to see a country lose its sovereignty to a rather nefarious oligarchy. Look forward to endless wars and foreign invasions :-/

To see the real problem with healthcare, google:

    "How hospital costs ran amok"

by ReasonOnline, with link to a Wall Street Journal article on the topic.

  • Wow, once again RT shows one side of a story in their video. The clips your seeing are only showing one side of the people in the streets. The American people protesting this bill FAR out number the people that you show here as for the bill. Notice all the professionally made sign's handed out to these people. Thats not a grassroots thing. Thats showing big money and government gave those out to people.

  • Funny how they call us "organized" astroturf mob as they carry around signs pro-made and ordered by democratic leaders, as we grab a poster board or the side of a box and a sharpy.

  • Thats the truth!!! Here they load up public school bus's with tax money paid nut's "opp's sorry ACORN" and hand out sign's paid in part with tax money. Gotta love the media\government spin.......
