My ultimate goal is to be an app developer, and make enough money doing it to live well. I am presently going to school for my degree in computer programming and laying down the base knowledge in Visual Basic, creating storyboards etc. Base knowledge and creativity are key!
@ChoPiGu Dude Apple is not MS who paid Apple developers to port it to window 7.... Those developers are already rich from App store, The one who made Elements made more money in one day than 5 years in Ooogle ads... Get it right..
@ChoPiGu How did U know? Are U telling me that Developers that got rich from the App store will accept a payment just to say how successful they are? pfft
As a developer: fuck you Apple! Charging people to make shit for your system? Go suck a dick...
As a web host: ROFL Apple! How is it 2010 and all servers still run on Windows and Unix? To anyone that has even bothered thinking they could run a server on Apple: nope.
As a user: fuck you Apple! Charging people more for OSes that run less is criminal!
And a special "fuck you Apple" for not accepting Flash into your latest products. And that you now make the site look broken rather than you guys.
Being an app developer myself (for both apple and google products) I can confidently say that apple has a highly superior system set up that makes the process much more enjoyable for the developer AND the customer.
What's funnier is how people go through the trouble of coming here to watch the videos, only to completely miss the point by whining about irrelevant things.
Hate your Mac? Pissed off at Apple's philosophies? Not happy with your iPad's 256 MB of RAM? Who cares. This is about app-development for iOS; go express your insecurities elsewhere.
Sorry, but I still remember paying between $4-5k for the G5 "desktop supercomputer" at work then spending a little over $1K for my self-built PC that blew it away (leaving it in the dust would be the understatement of the century) a couple months later. When it comes to MY money, Apple will for once need to prove it's really 'better' before I make the mistake of looking their way ever again.
Apple should be prosecuted by the federal government in an anti-trust case for forcing developers to develop entirely on their tech stack. If Microsoft ever forced devs for Windows Mobile to develop on Windows platforms, they'd be sued to hell. Apple forces devs to develop for iOS on Mac OS X, nobody cares. Fucking bullshit. Android apps can be developed on all major platforms (Linux, Win, Mac) because Google isn't lead by a half-retarded stuck up grumpy old asshole like Steve Jobs.
@leimeisei909 Not to disagree but I have a hard time believing that a man with a head THAT big (look over there ->), an ego to match and a bottomless wallet can be grumpy. Sometimes OCD can come off as grumpy, that would explain a lot. But I like your description, it's quite accurate.
@iskazam Hahaha... let me guess, you don't understand a word of what I just said, so you reply with calling me insecure? How does pointing out that a company is acting unlawfully qualify as being "insecure"?
@txspeed: Performance isn't about a simpleton comparison of CPU clock rates. The fact is that Apple's A4 CPU outperforms the Snapdragon CPU. See Anandtech's comparative performance tests.
@deasystems good point......but seeing how there is no iPhone currently out on the market that has an A4, this isn't very apples to apples (get it?)....gonna have this and gonna have that is pretty "simpleton" don't you agree....but, comparing an iPad processor to a smartphone is beyond schoolyard "my dad can beat up your dad" semantics....but, i'll play.....how does the A4 compare to the 45nm singlecore 1.3Ghz QC Snapdragon?.....choke much?
"they don't have the power"....really?....600mhz vs. my 1ghz snapdragon?.....whatever apple.........now if you'll excuse me.....i'm busy running multiple apps on my android right now.
@ReyGilliano the current iPhone 3GS is the 600mhz. which is the only one out on the market currently. The A4 is used in the iPad, but is "slated" for use in the iPhone. This is why I get a giggle out of some of the comments. Trying to benchmark the A4 against the Snapdragon when the 4G isn't even out yet is pointless. That's why I mentioned the 45nm 1.3Ghz Snapdragon. I figured if everyone was going to compare "what's coming"....(the 1.3 snap is due to release this year)
@ReyGilliano When the Snapdragon platform was first introduced, it used an ARM-based processor and a Qualcomm chipset. Currently, all the Snaps use a Qualcomm Scorpion processor and QC chipsets with no ARM internals.
@txspeed Im a bit confused, coz according to ARM CEO they both use the A9 architecture... and 1.3 Ghz already exist ages ago... Someone has to develop a better cooling "A9 has been clocked to 1GHz by everyone because it stays cool, but if Apple (or anyone) were to apply some better cooling, they could take it all the way up to 1.3GHz."
@ReyGilliano This is where it gets confusing. Although the Scorpion is a Qualcomm produced processor, the instruction set is still ARM based. In other words the machine code or "software" is ARM but the hardware is Qualcomm.
Why the hate on Android?

This is what Apple did, they went to these developers, paid them a few hundred dollars to say this, and then made it into a video.
