Great great great!! i've known this piece since it was ever published and i have to say that some of your passages are superbly and greatly accomplished.Keep it up. Would you dare trying to tackle "Fugue" from the "Trilogy" album. Best wishes.
I think that musicians determine what music lives on because they like to PLAY it...musicians will want to PLAY EMOs stuff for many many years to come...just like they want to PLAY Beethoven's piano sonatas today
Outstanding, friend! The timing is a bit hurried in the solo piano breaks but so is Emerson's in the live recordings. What you did was something absolutely KEWL & I wish you'd been tapped to do it for the ELP tribute CD from Shrapnel Records. You would have impressed the known world. :-D
PS I've only been playing for 46 years, 6 original CD's, thousands of rock gigs, opening for Kool & The Gang, playing with 3 original classic era groups, & doing hundreds of solo gigs in churches. U rok!
AMAZING!!!! Set the moog up for the proper sound though, You can get a patch sheet for the old minimoog (ive tried it on mine, sounds spot on!) im sure you can emulate that on the voyager?
Simply amazing. Best rendition on YT I've seen. It could be faster, and it would sound better if you dialed up a steel drum sound instead of that odd synth. Still, great job! 5/5
You are an insperation. I just learned this peice myself and I am not the greatest at reading music so, your video really helped me out with some of the rhythms and accents. Your tempo is a little slower than EMOs and it makes it easier to hear not picking through the bass and drums to hear the parts.
Really good Moog7Anta! I've seen Keith and ELP live several times but not never saw them play this or much of Brain Salad Surgery for that matter which I think is their best album. Great job!!
ill just say you are fantastic, but i noticed you are holding back putting those extra trills and fills in with the piano, just let it loose make it your own!
Dude, get yourself a drummer, and a top-notch bass player who has grerat vocal abilities, practice, rehearse, and tell me where your going to perform. I want to see you live. You would make Keith Emerson jelous.:) I'm not kidding. This generation would love to see a tribute band that does ELP and so would I--after seeing the real thing 4 times. There are trib bands to Zep, Pink Floyd, and even Steely Dan. Why not ELP? You are the man!!!
Excellent playing- it must have taken a lot of patience to learn this. I 'll tell you a funny story. In the early 90 's a friend asked Keith if he ever wrote down this piece on paper- Keith said "I don 't remember how I played that piece- it was madness"
I actually prefer the piano sections at the end of this song, I would like to see those performed as well, personally. Great job though, I would kill to be able to play this.
Absolutely brilliant!! Did you get sheet music for this. I've tried to work it by ear to an okay degree but I haven't got it nailed like this. I'm well impressed and a little envious. Great work,
I'd swear I am listening the actual recording of KE 9 2nd Impression! How did you get the piano that sounds identical to the one Keith used on Brain Salad Surgery?
I can't believe this! You have this town to the "T", and this is one of their most difficult compositions--even Carl Palmer said this himself! Where do you live? I'm a percussionist who plays ELP to the "T", and I know these tunes by heart. Have timps, chimes, gong, replica of stainless steel drum set-the works! We should record together!
I'll send you a message and provide info. The piano sounds identical to the original recording! You are incredibly talented!
Bravo. Awesome job! You've got some amazing talent there. I cuncur with the dude below, your synthesizer needs to sound a bit more like a steel drum sound. Other than that... perfect!
Your piano work is great. Most folks will be looking forward to more posts, whatever the pieces. Getting the 'right synth sound' is always tricky even for the pro's, the playing is what counts. Very well done indeed!!!
I'm not sure about the sinth you're using....anyway, look for a simple Steel Drums patch (or remove the large amount of resonance on the OSC of you patch), it would be ok.
Hi!I'm working on that, it's very hard to reproduce the saturated sound, like the one keith uses..i've learned it by ear and with some help from few midi of this piece..

The only disturbing thing is the patch you used for the "latin" section...you should program a Steel Drums-like sound.
