I think modern F1 is great! but it is begining to stray away from what it truly is! so i know they will stop it the drivers will, but as fans we should have our voices be heard!!!

I saw the Senna movie on the weekend, while unfortunately I was too young to remember him when he was racing. The movie has given these clips new meaning they're like little bits of precious gold and we will have them forever. Senna was more than just the greatest racing driver to ever live.

I've never been a fan of ANYTHING japanese, but that V12 Honda in the Mclaren is one of the best sounding engines of all time, even better than the ferrari, yes the ferrari had a more shrill and high pitched exhaust note, but that Mclaren just sounded so raw and evil especially with Senna's trottle control

Pay very close attention to the frequency with which Senna blips the throttle driving through the Parabolica.

Senna's rapid throttle corrections were very key to his tremendous speed.

Awesome. This brings back good memories from when i first started watching F1 racing, shame i was too young to really appreciate it then.

I think the Minardi sounds the greatest even if it wasn't the quickest car. Hearing the Minardis accelerate out of the corner and down the pits straight sends a shiver down my spine!

The sound of that Ferrari V12 gives me tingles...it just SCREAMS...Senna's blipping of the throttle is so unique, like at Monaco and all the other places he was so quick...full volume, Im struggling to find some vids that have half the sheer F1 sound as joyous to listen to as this one!!

This is tremendous stuff. I've watched this over 20 times throught the past year, volume on full. This footage is priceless. F1 is utter rubbish today. The cars look and sound awful. I can't believe they butchered this and the Hockenheim circuits! Truly unbelievable. Thanks for posting

It's also the reason why Senna was so quick through the corners - he entered faster, got back on the throttle earlier, and therefore exited faster. He blipped on the exit of most corners not just Parabolica.

What's the deal with blipping the throttle midway through parabolica?

Blipping= throttle induced oversteer. One way to neutralize the understeer caused by low downforce settings at an ultra high speed track like Monza, Spa, old Hockenheim, etc.

I was at a classic ar day at Silverstone in September and one of the 'races' they were running (clubs only) were F1 cars from 1973 -1988. I was never a fan of F1, but that day ... I understood

I sat in the stands by Luffield and I was speachless by the noise. It tore through me and re-awoke a dormant dream (not F1).

1 month later I had my racing license. 4 weeks later I was racing for real

The only other engine in my opinion that had a very unique sounding tone to it, was (Aside from the ferrari and honda in this vid) was the McLaren Engine tone from 2000, 2001 and I think 2002... it had this harmonic tone to it.....

That's the first thing I noticed on the video. Pumping the throttle, that was his style! With closed eyes I could hear it and separate him from the rest of the field. Some of the drivers tried to do this like him, but they can' reach the intensity (frequency) of Senna's technique. He had so quick throttle-movement, immediately on the throttle, pushing the car on the limit.

We all miss you my friend, but the good always die young.
