This reminds me of being kid in the 70's dad driving the micro-bus up to the mountain going night skiing at Mt. Hood Meadows. Even though it was before my puffing time I can still smell the joints they were smoking when I hear this... Good Times!!!
My father used to listen to this when I was a kid. And I remember hearing this on the Boogie Nights sound track many, many years later. Only then did I remember it. The feeling of "euphoria" upon relistening to it is an understatement Well, it catapulted me into listening to ELO ever since.
Its been quoted by Harrison that had the Beatles stayed together they would have gone in a direction something of the style of ELO.. I think I remember hearing or reading that.. I'm sure if I am mispoken someone will soon point it out.. Regardless.. ELO was a fantastic band with great songs !!!
@deweypug I enjoyed ELO's music throughout the seventies but like many bands of that era, the following decade was brutal. They didn't help their cause contributing to the mess called Xanadu, the movie.
I'll never be able to listen to this song without picturing that final scene in "Boogie Nights" right after "Dirk Diggler" whips it out, cut to the end titles, and this song.. ELO did some beautifully brilliant, memorable music in the 1970s, and "Boogie Nights" similarly, perfectly captured that period..
one of if not my favorite ELO song . Does anyone think that patrs of the lyrics have a George Harrison sound to them?? Awesome song regargless just trying to get other's opinions on that thought.
I love this

@twstrchasr Yes, I believe that was a quote by Jeff Lynne regarding what direction he wanted to ELO to follow...
