The best part about all of this, the hit which was dirty, the ensuing brawl. It ignited something special for the Sabres, and ignited something special for both teams against each other. All one can do is look back. As a Sabres fan, I still love this minute in our history. Fact is Neils hit may have been legal, but no doubt he intended to injure. Your team deserved the smack down as we would if we did that to you. Its just a shame your team got tore down this year.

Neil's hit on Drury was clean. There was no elbow, and it was from the side. If Drury had his head up he wouldn't have gotten railed like that.

Ruff sending out Peters, Mair, and Kaleta against Spezza, Heatley, and Alfie was chickenshit. He sent them out there just to hurt those 3 Ottawa players, none of whom are fighters.

And then Peters goes after the Sens goalie! What an asshole.

Drury had the puck a split second before he got hit. You're allowed to hit someone without the puck as long as they just got rid of it. Since no one else had touched the puck yet, Drury was fair game.

This is why they touch you from the second you start playing to keep your head up, and don't watch your pass or shot.

Neil's hit while he deserved the penalty there was no attempt to injure.. yes it was late... yes theres a shoulder but you do NOT retaliate like this... i do not condone the it or anything.. but you punish them on paper... you do not go after there star players cause that just makes you just as low as the other team

First off, Chris Neil is hardly the Sens "star player". Second, Chris Neil has a repeated history of this and blantantly delievers cheap shot whenever he can. He is the dirtiest player in the game. And the fact that that stupid dipshit Gary Bettman didn't do anything about this is the reason why Hockey can not be taken seriously in many parts of America. I love Hockey and the NHL, but with shit like that going on it will always be a fucking garage league.

There should be no tolerance for this kind of shit in the game today. Neil should be suspended, and all of those guys that fought should be fined. It's just as bad as the hit a few days later on Thomas Kaberle by that gooner on the Devils.

Don't get me wrong, the Sabres are one of my favourite teams, and I dont really like the Senators all that much...but this brawl was idiotic. Fun to watch tho :P
