The only thing I didn't appreciate about this video was the repeated description of the scars as "horrific" I felt this was a guilt trip and caused more shame/humiliation to be attributed to the scars than was healthy. I get they don't want people to do it but fear tactics are not the way to go.

I cut myself (5.5 months without it though :-)). I can tell you that at least for me it was not a "trend" and before I did it, I never knew about it. My dad had me pissed off and I was alone with his hunting knife and due to certain things said, I decided to slash my thigh with it. For some reason I still don't know, I thoroughly enjoyed it. If it weren't for some of the "triggering" cutting websites, I would probably have committed suicide instead.

I cut myself (5.5 months without it though :-)). I can tell you that at least for me it was not a "trend" and before I did it, I never knew about it. My dad had me pissed off and I was alone with his hunting knife and due to certain things said, I decided to slash my thigh with it. For some reason I still don't know, I thoroughly enjoyed it. If it weren't for some of the "triggering" cutting websites, I would probably have committed suicide instead.
