  • "from behind a little bit".....you gotta be kidding

  • who is the commentator ? idiot who never played hockey , an obvious elbow to the head from behind

  • Comment removed

  • That is the most biased commentating I've seen very dirty hit

  • from behind a little bit??? get fucked.... Marchand is terrible and his hitting is gonna get him hurt soon

  • lol new england commentators are so retardedly biased. they actually say good non-call. disgusting

  • his "clitt" is "sore"... fuckin pussy

  • Jack Edwards is awesome, mostly for the reason that he makes you guys so angry hahaha!

Love Edwards and especially his "CO"

  • lmao jack edwards and co sucking bruin cock like usual

  • good non call/ are you kidding me!? how much you wanna bet if a columbus player did a cheapshot like that to a bruins player jack edwards would be going insane, edwards your a biased chump, your a joke

  • I was sooo happy hearing the news:) Glad Umby was ok:)

  • @2482Stryker Your an idiot Marchand was suspended for this hit!

  • And they suspended Rome for a hit that came from the front? Marchand hits someone from behind with his stinky elbow and gets away scott free. What a fucking joke.

  • @Kino483 i doubt that you are a ufc fighter you fake fucking idiot! brad marchand would destroy you! and when the hell are you going to fight brad marchand??? your not in the ufc by having people in your back yard wrestle you while you try to shove your dick up there ass? whats your name in the ufc fucking hotshot??

  • @hkysniper his UFC name is Cunty McBitchtits

  • Hahah the troll kino483 is on every brad marchand video! What a LOSER this kino faggot is!

  • complete trahs. his family deserves to be raped and killed.

  • Brad Marchand is a dirty fucking bitch canadian cunt NIGGER. i cant wait to beat the shit out of the dumbshit pussy

  • @Kino483 Your mom tits got jizzed on by a trucker.

  • @Kino483 you can try to beat the shit out of him, but you have no chance....no chance. you would get ass raped.

    P.S

    did i mention no chance

  • @lampduffday72 umm. i do have a chance. i fight in the UFC so good luck running away from me a like alittle pussy you are

  • get raped. Marchand isn't that dirty if a player so grow some balls.

  • I'm a concussion victim who as a result of a head injury in hockey, ended my career early. it's rats like matt cooke and brad marchand who really piss me off

  • Teams need to get Gregory Campbell on their team to get better treatment for suspensions.

  • 2 games for this, 4 for Torres. LOL. From behind and extends elbow to the back of the head. Joke store called...

  • PS - It's clear that Chara's hit was unintentional, no penalty and no suspension is fair

  • I'm a Bruins fan and the suspension was fair.

  • if you look at the hit closely, marchand had his eyes on the puck, im sure he was targeting the head rather than playing the puck. However, high elbow to the head from behind, 2 games is justified

  • Clear motion of the elbow targeting the head. These should be an automatic 2 game suspension. Should be the norm regardless whether the player was injured, whether a penalty was called or whether the player throwing the elbow is a repeat offender. Next offence, 4 games. And then 8 games and a fine to the team for an offence after that.

  • @dafoomie Stern but fair??? i don't freaking think so. that was a deliberate hit to the head and if the NHL was sensitive to the hits to the head...... he should have been handed more than just 2 games. These hits to the head are getting way to out of hand and more needs to be done to deter these IDIOTS in the NHL from doing it. suspending them 2 games and handing them a $20,000 fine is retarted. its pocket change for them and they will do it again because of no reprocussions from the NHL!

  • elbow to the head.... quit bitching about teams being dirty AND getting caught

  • I love when Bruin fans call other teams dirty. Bruins have been deff top 3 dirtiest teams of the year. Penguins being first and Islanders second of course

  • that was such a NON HIT. This league is getting soft. He practically bumped into the guy. Any suspension in this situation is utterly rediculous

  • So that gets 2 games ... but Chara breaks a guys neck and gets 0

  • @smp894 i agree with u (i dont know the names of the announcers but ill take ur word for it) but yes one i know i always here on videos i think is smart the other is a dumbass, i live in buf and i only really like rick jenearette not harry neal, listening to rick since i was a kid

  • typical bruins....... organization of shit for brains.

  • The name Clitsome always cracks me up.

  • I used to like Bruins... But after Chara's dirty hit and this litte little punk's shitty hit, I hate them, Ifucking hate them. They're goons in the smartest city of the world.

  • Boston announcers are so biased it is sickening.

  • @Acuratl60 yeah and montreal ones aren't? they call the police when one of they're players gets layed out because they're a bunch of biased pussies.

  • @smp894 I agree. That incident was because of the rink and the placement of the glass.

  • What is wrong with these people? A Neanderthal man could ref the game better. But I think that this hit shows exactly what is wrong, and it doesn't make a difference if the refs don't call anything if it wasn't restricting a possible scoring effort or the refs are totally overwhelmed by the speed of the game and have everything they can do just to stay out of the way. The fact is that everyone on the ice is starting to look like a big AH.

  • Tim thomas has a pedophile mustache hahahahahahahaha

  • marchands and instigator, its his job. but umberger has a height difference and you can see how low he is, marchands a short little pr*ck, i think it was an unintentional elbow to the head, but just to crack down i think the 2 games is understandable

  • MARSHMONT

  • NESN commentators are absolute morons...really hurts to listen to them speak. being boston commentators, you'd expect greatness since there's so much tradition on that team. but it's just garbage

  • @mjt205 Watch a lot of announcers and these guys are the hands-down worst. Worse than Pittsburgh, even.

  • @TimberNewtype in my opinion, carolina = worst. steigerwald out of pittsburgh is practically retarded, but on the other hand errey offers a lot. so they are about average in my book. pittsburgh needs Mike Lange to come back to TV, he's one of the best ever

  • @mjt205 Ok, ok...carolina's are pretty bad (doesn't help that I despise that team). Is Lange the "beats him like a rented mule" guy? If so, I agree. That guy is hilarious!

  • @mjt205 No jack edwards is a fuckhead. Im a Bruins fan who watches a lot of hockey and I hate that man. Brinkly isnt that bad, but edwards should not be able to speak.

  • this is the softest dirty hit i've ever seen

  • thats awful..two games for that...HAHAHA the guys not even hurt. matt cooke got nothing for his hit on savvy...retarded.

  • @hockeyplaya449 only because there was no rule then (that hit inspired the new rule). If cooke did that now he'd get 10 games easy.

  • Should have gotten more than 2 for that malicious hit. He obviously threw his elbow at Umberger's head...

  • @NJDEVILS1214

2 was plenty, the guy didn't even get hurt.

  • @AskewTarantula Sorry I am one of the people that wants the injuries to stop and these cheap shots eliminated for good.2 games for accidentally bringing his elbow up ok,but intentionally trying to elbow the guy in the head(just like with Heatley)deserves more than 2 games. There was intent to injure. If this stuff is really going to stop, dish out a real punishment, not 2 shitty games.Should be auto 3-5 games or let the players handle it on the ice with no repercussions.Maybe the NHL cant stop this.

  • @AskewTarantula

The fact that he didn't get hurt is irrelevant, it's the MOVE that is punishable, not the consequence... Like attempted murder, the victim didn't die maybe not even bruised, but the perpetrator will still get between 15-40yrs in jail anyway... The "He did not even get hurt" defense is moronic, sorry to say it...

  • Being physical is part of the fun, especially for viewers.

  • so are the Columbus police going to be notified? probably not, because the people of Ohio are rational people, unlike the whiny, pussy Canadian fans

  • The Bruins are a bunch of idiot goons.

  • @malmn who did the bruins beat up on your team. Stop crying pussy boy

  • @malmn please, learn the game of hockey idiot

  • When you go in for a hit you have your elbow down and right at contact you start flairing it out to get the most speed/power. Marchand isn't watching Umberger, hes watching the puck. Umberger is slowing down. Marchand expected Umberger to be closer and starts extending his elbow out too soon. The hit wasn't meant to be dirty but it came out so. If he wanted it to be dirty he would be looking at Umberger and probably hitting him much much harder. You can still suspend him but hes a standup player

  • A few funny things here, first off NHL is really going soft IMO with everything from players to owners its all soft. Secondly NESN is thus partially owned by the New York Times Company, through its interest in New England Sports Ventures.

  • Umberger is a pussy just like the rest of the columbus team

  • NESN announcer are the best hockey announcers out there. Wrong owee.

  • Good non call, although I heard he'll be getting a disinplary hearing from the league which I hope doesn't mean anything else. The hit wasn't hard enough to do any damage so, I agree with call.

  • @AskewTarantula he got 2 games

  • How did both the refs and the announcers miss that?

  • It wasn't a dive because he reacted to the hit right away there was no delay

  • Bruins fan here, definitely a blindside hit. Should have been a penalty for sure.

The NESN commentators are not idiots, of course they have a bias towards the team they always commentate for. They are actually hilarious most of the time, but like any commentator - or any person for that matter - they do sometimes say something stupid in the heat of the moment.

  • @bengoose04 change my mind, it looks like he barely got hit.... i mean it was from behind in a way, but it looks like he maybe gives him a little forearm graze

  • ref saw it, didn't make a call....barely touched him. Must be kidding thinking he'll get a suspension. Lol pussies/

  • After seeing more angles on this hit (the one from the Blue Jackets feed specifically) shows the hit as being dirty. Initially, I saw not much with this hit but after seeing more angles and having it slowed down, I'd say Marchand should receive a two-game suspension. And this is coming from a Bruins fan who saw no problem with the NHL's lack-of-suspension for Chara.

  • is it me or does Umberger seem to always be the victim of huge or dirty hits?..

  • A good non call ? Sounds about right for NESN announcers.......

  • Jack Edwards is a boss

  • what is all the fuss about? he barely touched him! umberger was flat footed and took a dive. marchand gets 1 game because of what happened with chara, but this was NOTHING. Reminds me of when a nfl ref throws a flag when a guy breathes on a qb's knee.

  • ya i like big hits and all but this doesnt make you look tough, it makes you look like an asshole. way out of line

  • From behind a little bjt? How could that be LESS from behind???

  • how could umberger hit marchands elbow with his helmet, he should be getting the suspension :P

yeah just a "little bit" behind

  • Comment removed

  • As a Boston fan I really like Marchand's game as a tough, fast, gut-it-out young kid but this was just dumb and wrong. No need for that. This also comes from someone who still thinks the Pacioretty was a hockey play that ended unfortunately. You can finish your check one second after the puck leaves a leaves a player's stick and perhaps the interference call was right with a game misconduct due to injury but Chara is a 13 year veteran with one suspension in that time for a BS instigator call.

  • The top commenters are both Canadian, probably CanadiEn supporter, so it's no wonder why they commented that way.

  • The hockey operations will be OVERWELMINGLY comfortable in not suspending brad marchant, due to the fact his boss's son plays on that team.

  • Just an unfortunate hockey play. The NHL will be extraordinarily comfortable when they don't suspend Marchand.

  • Oh.... sorry... My Bad. Those Andy Brickley words were from last year, when the Bruins Savard got hit.

Funny how the words matched this hit though!!!!

  • @gleggo65 yah maybe watch the Savard hit again? and then realize how stupid your comment it

  • I don't know what all the shot's at NESN's Andy Brickley are all about, I heard him say: "He’s gunna’ take the shot, up high from the back checking ----", "Players need to have the ability to protect themselves", "It’s well documented about hits to the head..and you just can’t tolerate them", "Jack, it sure looked like a hit to the head, from the blind side" "That’s a target head hit but how can there not be a penalty on the play" "That’s a player that has no chance to protect himself!!"

  • Coming from a DIEHARD Bruins fan and Marchand is one of my favorites right now...He needs to be suspended for the hit.

  • First off I like both of these players equally. So anyways Umberger wants to see a suspension for this hit? .. should he be even playing in this game for what he just did to doughty a few days ago? Who knows? Thats all i have to say.

  • NICE COMMENTATORS!!!

  • NICE COMMENTATORS!!!

  • chill out sunflower :) go to my page and check out my videos, it will put you in a better mood...I promise....lol

  • K i'm a huge bruins fan and jack Edwards does suck, but I love brickley he's great

  • definately dirty. nhl having conference with him. i can see anything from a fine to a 3 gamer.

lol "good non-call" ...now i know why americans can't get into the game. we canadians are spoiled by HNIC, Sportsnet, and TSN.

  • yes it should of been a penalty, but marchand was just trying to get body position on umberger, it shouldn't be a suspension

  • 5 games minimum

  • @Theirony87 you're an idiot

  • Wow haha (Canadian here, played hockey for 15 years) and listening to these announcers explain that play made me begin to lose my patience... "Not much of a hit". Sigh

  • no shit the bruins announcers are bias. thats y they work for nesn!!!! remy and don O. r bias for the red sox. if u dont like it, watch basketball

  • Every single Bruins' fan agrees he should and will be suspended. You have to understand the announcers are watching from above in a press box. Not the best view.

  • @sunflowerpixie1 ... I assure you -- they have tv's with replays.

  • @Arms514 Yeah, but Brickley made the initial comment before he saw the replay. Either way Marchand's getting suspended, who cares lol.

  • NESN= rly rly fucken dumb

  • Im a Bruins fan and i do admit these two announcers (jack edwards and andy Brickley) are the most biased and annoying announcers i have ever heard

  • This is such minor contact. It wasn't even much of a hit. Marchand wasn't even looking anywhere near Umberger when his elbow hit his head. (Watch the slow-mo) He was looking directly at the puck in the other direction. Minor penalty should have been called but nothing else.

  • @hblalock9 come on, you can clearly see him put his elbow to the head of Umberger... Even if he was watching the puck, he knew that Umberger was there...

  • @hblalock9 are you fucking blind? you're stating that Marchand's swing of the elbow was not much of a hit, he was simply skating in Umberger's way and had a twitch of the elbow when he neared Umberger's head, right? There's nothing manly about sticking up for cowardly acts, a hit to the back of the head/neck can result in life threatening injuries, but thats chill according to you...looks like you might be paving yourself a way to an executive job in the nhl with that kind of thought

  • @hblalock9 Don't play dumb. Watch the motion of his stick. 2 hands on the stick and he fully rotates his waist and torso to allow him to angle the elbow at the back of the head. NO ONE skates while randomly and violently swaying their centre of gravity left and right. Obviously a "Bawwwsten" fan.

  • the bruins and penguins have the most biased commentators ever

  • lmao not dirty

  • WHEN WILL SOMEONE DIE I DONT CARE I JUST WANT TO SEE DEATH THATS WHY I WATCH HOCKEY

  • MARSHMONT

  • If Colin Campbell can't have anything to do with the games his son is playing in - Isn't it time for him to resign his position due to this conflict of interest? I mean doesn't the current situation mean that every Boston game gets a different perspective then all of the rest of the league's games? Could be good or bad for the Bruins whichever way it's looked at - so the obvious thing - is for Colin Campbell to leave, to keep things equal across the board!

  • Marchand's an idiot

  • Marchand will get a game suspension. Clearly an elbow to the head.

  • I didn't think that was to the back of the head....I thought it was more like to the back of the shoulder.

  • Well, that twas an elbow to the head. Cue all the fags saying nothing will be done entirely because Campbell is on the Bruins. Retards.

  • That's dirty...with the NHL in the spotlight right now you get an elbow from Heatley and one from Marchand...bad timing on the cheap stuff guys!

  • no suspension because Greg Campbell is the son of Colin Campbell

  • @Grafixmania Colin Campbell has no say in games that his plays in.

  • I gotta agree. I'm a big fan of Marchand, but on the slo-mo, it's clearly at least a forearm if not an elbow to the back of the head/neck. Umberger definitely wasn't fully balanced which makes the hit look worse, but that doesn't change the fact that it was an elbow. I guess you could argue it was from a slight angle, not straight behind, but I think it still falls under rule 48: a backpressure hit where the head is the principle point of contact. Probably one or two games suspension.

  • breathingreflection* i apologize

  • @breathreflection he shouldnt have tossed up the bow but if umberger had not been falling forward, this hit would have been a lot more sever. i think he deserves at least two games for this but the way the lay paned out, it did not look like he was attempting to injure him. i believe he was trying to make some contact with him and in the heat of the moment threw out the elbow. Dirty play, could have been worse. One year ago this play is okay. NHL needs to make an example of him for the new rule

  • I think that just about all sports announcers are biased toward their own team. That said, Jack Edwards is certainly incredibly biased toward the Bruins--though at least some of this, despite the fact that he's been calling hockey games for years, is because he is simply wrong most of the about what occurs on the ice. The number of times Brickley has to correct him is astounding.

  • @breathingreflection "most of the *time"

  • Edwards cracks me up. This was clearly an elbow to the head (though it wasn't as vicious as most). I still love hearing him explain how paille's hit was not a hit to the head. It was literally a textbook example of the new rule.

  • look at 1:19 Umberger was already on his way down. would have been a shove if he was standing. not saying this is a clean hit but you have to put into factor that umberger was falling to his knees when marchand was skating by

  • @Bruins912P No, it would've been an elbow, because Marchand led with the elbow. I think it's also debatable that Umberger was going down. Looked to me like he was just bending his knee to shift his weight. And before anybody shouts "homer" I've been a Bruins fan for at least 20 years.

  • Dimb fuckin annoucers. I promise you that if i ever encounter jack edwards i will accidentally give him a head shot.

  • More of the same from the Bruins. Not talent ass clown who resolve to dirty plays like this one. Do not suspend him!! He did not intent to hurt him!

  • I am a Bruins fan and i agree that this was a cheap shot. Marchand has been great this year for the B's but this is uncharacteristic of him. Definatley deserves at least a two game suspension. Usually NESN announcers are unbiased (Edwards likes to get excited when the other teams score...) suprised to hear how they reacted to this, my guess is they didnt see it completely. hopefully. Im suprised Montreal fans havent attempted to press charges for this play... then again it was not a canadian

  • it was absolutely an elbow to the back of the head, but at the same time umberger was in an odd position as he reached out for the puck. do i think marchand could've tucked his elbow and avoided contact? sure, but i don't think it was intentional.

  • @Cyanide20 What the hell, really, unintentionnal?? How do you hit with an elbow unintentionnaly?

  • My god the announcers on NESN are complete idiots

  • @owee44 They are not...just homers like every other announcer in the world. Jack Edwards is VERRRRY entertaining to listen to.

  • As a bruins fan I can say the ref have really screwed with the bruins the past fews games. But this was a bad no call, he should be suspended. Clearly cheap shot.

  • NESN are possibly the worst idiots that this sport has even known...It was clearly an elbow to the back of the head & they dont even talk about that..Like everybody says, no wonder the Bruins fans dont know shit about hockey...

  • @MostValuablePlaya just because 2 NESN announcers call it wrong doesnt speak for Bruins fans MORON. listen to some Boston sports radio and you'll hear BOSTON radio calling for Marchand to be suspended as well as fans. so you and your pussy canadian friends can shut the fuck up.. Subban needs another Ovechkin train to sit him on his ass again.

  • A filthy elbow to the back of the head where the brain & spine are the most vulnerable is fuckin dirty...Stupid little fuck he needs the Subban train to come & plow his fuckin face off again..fuck the Bruins honestly..

  • Like Joe Thornton said.......the Bruins got "horseshoes" when it comes to these types of things!

  • An elbow to the back of the head should draw a suspension. In boxing or MMA, that would get you DQed immediately and permanently ruin your reputation.

  • "A good non-call." Ha!

I guess the fact it was (a) from behind and (b) an elbow to the head... well, who cares.

And we wonder why Bruins fans don't know their hockey...

  • @Arms514 If it was a true "elbow to the head", mother fucker wouldn't have gotten back up so quick. An open-hand smack would've been more devastating.

  • @PremaritalSex1 So if i shoot you and i miss, i don't get to go to prison?

  • @jvezp Wait... he missed? He actually made contact, although like I implied, it wasn't a hard hit. And to answer your question.... everyone who ever shot at me never went to prison for it, why would you be any different?

  • @PremaritalSex1 ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

  • @Arms514 youre an idiot too.. 2 NESN announcers don't speak for Bruins FANS. Where in this broadcast did you hear Bruins fans speak? I must have missed that part.

  • @jmgon311 Angry much? I was simply pointing out that if this is what Bruins fans are listening to -- they're getting entirely biased commentating every game.

Watch the Krejci-Pouliot fight from Jan on NESN. The announcers are shocked/disgusted Pouliot would go after Krejci. Then try the TSN feed, where you see Krejci skate after Pouliot -- begging him to drop his gloves. He was the one that wanted to fight. You never saw that on NESN.

Ask for the links if you'd like... I'll post them.

  • "A good non-call." Ha!

And we wonder why Bruins fans don't know their hockey...

  • ohh boohoo its hockey suck it up RJ an play the game

  • beautiful work by the refs like usual. They really earned the beers they crack after every game last night LOL

  • Typical NHL with typical no call. Fucken BS. And no, im not a Bruins Fan. Im a nucks fan, But that was CLEARLY a cheap shot

  • The initial contact looks to be with the back/shoulder and then his arm rides up to make contact with the neck/head.

  • These NESN announcers are ridiculously biased. Clearly that was a blindside hit to the head and a penalty should have been called.

  • @whybugus you obviously have no idea of the rules in hockey, and yes, thats y they r the BRUINS announcers.

  • @rog6ja what? you just explicitly proved that you have no idea what the rules are. that's a hit to the head from behind, and should be at least a 10 game suspension. the chara hit was a clean hit with an unfortunate circumstance but this looks more of like a premeditated shot to the HEAD, not a shoulder to shoulder hit like chara's.

  • @rog6ja Well I guess Mike Murphy has no understanding of the rules of hockey either since he suspended Marchand for two games.

  • @whybugus ive never seen any commentators, montreal, toronto, etc... as bias as these dumb ****s

  • @gravino555 The Montreal commentators are too busy calling the police and rioting.

  • @sunflowerpixie1 a guy almost dies on the ice and your making jokes, stay classy asshole.

  • @gravino555 A guy almost dies on the ice, but has no sign of a concussion anymore and is back at games a week later. Love Patches and wish him the best, but he's going to be okay. No need to over-exaggerate.

  • @sunflowerpixie1 doctors said half an inch lower he would be dead.

  • @gravino555 You spoke to the doctors and they told you that? If so they lied. Do research bb. No matter where the position was he could've died, but he DIDN'T. Let's be thankful he's okay, thanks.

  • @whybugus Elbowing for sure.
