  • district 9 is one of my favorite movies of all time, I so wish it had won

  • I'm sorry but the sound on this was so poorly edited :(

  • Say what you want about Avatar, either wou like/love it or not. But seriously...The Hurt Locker winning best picture?

  • All you people are crazy...Avatar is a good movie yes, but not best movie of the year. That should go to The Hurt Locker, District 9, or Inglorious Basterds. And it's a damn good thing for the movie industry that a great film won and not just a good one.

  • Tron Legacy has better effects!!!

  • Type PRIZE before youtube and hit enter

  • pineapple

  • I can't remember the name of first soundtrack. Can anyone help me?

  • this was shit. sry but it was. to give that movie more oscars than Gladiator and Braveheart and the Departed!?!? It deserved fucking best documentary. Avatar was a billion times better just because the story sucked doesn't change the fact that Avatar's cinematography, story message, art direction, music and everything else escpecially directing was better. It grossed 2.7 million because people loved it. what the fuck, there's nothing more to say.

  • Please - Avatar was a good action movie, with a cheesy, little original plot, awesome effects, so it should win awards for special effects, camera work, blah blah blah - anything visual, but not best movie... so for me the decision was correct...

  • Very nice job! Altho now I wish I could've seen this before the Oscars.

  • even if avatar didn't win the best picture that's understandable, but giving the academy to bigelow ? That's ridiculous, James Cameron has every right to win that, did bigelow write the script for hurt locker ? did she invent new cameras ? james cameron did much more.avatar was a revolutionary film, the academies just wanted to make history by giving it to a women, and they opened it up to ten films so they can include well known films to pull their declining television rating up

  • Ok avatar didn't have a good plot fine but neither did the hurt locker are u serious it's a jackass idiot who dufuses bombs the movie was boring and uninteresting

  • The Blind Hurt Avatar Locker should have won.

  • I don't know why Avatar was even on the list. I mean, yes, it's got hell of a visual effect and offers great ride to the audience, but other than that, I really don't see the insightful teachings to human morality like other Academy Award winners had.

  • Nice trailer! Where did you get the songs?

  • "THIS YEAR THE ACADEMY NOMINATES 10 MOVIES FOR BEST PICTURE"

I hope this will happen in the next years, because more films will have the right to compete for the Oscar

  • Avatar should have been the Academy Awards winner for Best Picture because the guy who made up the story waited four years for that technology and then the hurt locker wins the award I don't want to be rude but . What a f***.

  • @TheAnimoProject Other than the fact that Avatar had a horrible plot and standard acting, while The Hurt Locker had a great plot and great acting.

The only thing good about Avatar was the visuals. Don't bother arguing that, I'll make you look ignorant in a millisecond.

  • @troyburger : Avatar's story was WAY to overused to win Best Picture... think Dances With Wolves and Pocahontas. They have identical stories.

  • @funkynubman

Dont 4got about The Last Samuri!!!

  • This video was a waste of time.

  • Dude Cameron went Overboard with CGI....I stoped watching it.Was to fake..Besides havent when seen this same plot in avatar before???.An outsider goes into a Native Comunity with no knowlege of their ways and Traditions.

Umm.. I know Dances with Wolves! trhats basicly what Avatar was, but with a Futuristic setting .

  • @icanmyshoetie

    Dances With Wolves..........INNNNN SPAAAACCCEEEE!!!!!!!!!

  • Avatar don't need oscars because so much people love that movie and that's what is more important !! Avatar will be remembered for many years to come !! Also Avatar is Pro-American movie and we know what that means :))

  • What are the songs used in this clip?

  • Basterds or Avatar should have won o.o;; Even though I found Up the most entertaining :3

  • Comment removed

  • everyone knows Avatar should have won--listen to the music :)

But its better to break records than get one award that everyone will forget about in a few weeks.

  • what song is playing for the first minute?

  • @rockonami it's "My Name is Lincoln" from the movie "the Island" - that's the final song in the movie, unmistakeably composed by Steve Jablonsky who also wrote the score for "Transformers"

  • @felix169 thank you!! yeah I thought it sounded like him, I have all of the transformers soundtracks, did he just do the first movie or the second as well?

  • @rockonami he did the second Transformers score as well :) look for "Steve Jablonsky" on imdb ;)

  • Damn filthy prawns.

  • Out of the nominees, I have seen Inglourious Basterds, The Hurt Locker, Avatar, District 9, Up, and Up in the Air and I think Hurt Locker wasn't that good. He first act was really grea tbut the rest, not so much. Basterds deserved it IMO.

  • the hurt locker was a piece of shit avatar was a piece of shit and that movie whit the fat black guy and sandra bullock was a racist peice of shit and so was your mom tbh

  • I liked The Hurt Locker. I didn't love it. Personally, I think BP should've either gone to Inglorious Basterds, or Up In the Air. I didn't see Precious, so I guess my judgement isn't as fair as it could be, but whatever.

  • AVATAR SHOULD HAVE WON FOR THAT AWARD

  • comments about avatar being cliche are also cliche,

  • Please , what the names of the songs ??? Thanks.

  • @Toruk4Maktu40 the song is "My Name is Lincoln" by steve jablonsky, on the original island soundtrack

  • @Toruk4Maktu40 "guardian at the gates" is the second song

  • UP!!!!

  • this music goes with hurt locker very well

  • what is the music to this?

  • i mean its allright but if you ask me compare hurt locker to saving private ryan it looks like shit because the movie didnt even potray warefare realisticly on the otherhand savin pvt ryan just looks like ww2 and saving private ryan didnt even win best picture avatar shouldve won best picture

  • Sincerely i dont think hurt locker deserved best picture i mean i bought the movie to watch and said to myself whom this movie must be amazing if it beat out great movies i expected it to be between avatar and hurt locker based on the reviews hurt locker recieved but it was a major dissapointment for me

  • you fucked up guardian at the gates with editing it u should never fucked with it NEVER

  • Avatar was certainly entertaining, awesome graphics and design and all, but the story was extremely cliched. I have yet to watch hurt locker X_x

  • What song was used in this?

  • @eladriewen i only know the first song, its steve jablonski - my name is lincoln

  • thing i don't understand in avatar, is that jake is connected to his avatar all the time, though there totally seperated of eachother. Could somebody help me out?

  • does anyone know the song, please reply if you do

  • @spinser9000 that's all I want to know too rofl. What was the song used for this trailer?

  • @spinser9000 i only know the first song, its steve jablonski - my name is lincoln hope that helps a bit =P

  • Avatar was not deserving of best picture..it was a cliched, predictable story( albeit immensely entertaining), just nothing we hadn't seen before in terms of plot.. if avatar was a 2D film without james cameron attached it wouldn't have garnered so many nominations. The fact that it was groundbreaking was enough to give it all its noms and an obviously deserved win in special effects. The likes of the hugely deserving Hurt Locker, Inglourious Basterds, Up and Up in the air are far superior.

  • @troyburger Avatar was a heaping pile of shit. Hurt Locker, Basterds, Serious Man. Except Serious Man was best in show. Just my opinion.

  • I was so disappointed when I watched Oscars, I so wanted Avatar to win because it is damn brilliant but then came Hurt locker and won, I was like what the fuck, noooo, Avatar is waaay better !! I haven't seen District 9, but the Blind side was also amazing and I'm very happy that Sandra Bullock got an oscar as a best actress in the blind side! That's just my opinion, I know there's a lot of people who hate Avatar and like Hurt locker but this is just my opinion, I'm Avatar fan forever.

  • agree... I really love Avatar...

  • @llentoo And your grammar is almost as atrocious as your movie of choice.

  • @bhbman90

I don't speak english as my mother language :))))

  • @llentoo And what is your "mother language"? Could I rightfully assume that whatever it is, it is native to the country you were born in?

  • @bhbman90

I live in Finland and I speak Finnish. Why is that interesting??

  • @llentoo Because it explains your bad taste in cinema. Or, I should say different taste. I doubt Finland has to many tales with great depth.

  • @bhbman90

but the Finns aren't the only ones who love Avatar, many people do like it. Avatar got Oscars, it is not shit.

  • @llentoo I wasn't saying they were. Avatar got oscars for what it deserved: Visual Effects and such. But it wasn't a best picture of the year-worthy movie.

  • Avatar is for kids damn it :)) Hurt Locker and Inglorious Basterds best movies :)

  • I was really surprised when they nominated District 9. I haven't seen it, but I think Ten Nominees is just a bit too far

  • This is great

  • The Oscars sucks...Hollywood is just a factory trying to make easy money.

  • @globalarte You're a born rebel. Born to know not to conform, that is. Never oblige mainstream sucess, it is your enemy. Stay in the shadows of the underground, and hate anything that isn't underground. Don't forget your leather jacket, butt-chin, and nice motorcycle, you'll need them...

That what your horoscope told you?

  • @bhbman90 Wtf are you talking about ?

Do you know about independent cinema ?

what about international films and directors ?

Hollywood is just a FACTORY trying to make easy money .

Anybody with deeper cinema criteria know this.

  • nice video but the music was cuted bad.

  • Hurt locker was not as good as inglorious basterds

  • @baluvxaluv you kidding me? You mean that dumbass movie where they trivialize world war 2?... yeah totally.

  • Why is it that when you have a mentally disabled person, a sap story about someone who was abused or a depiction of a current war you will most definitely win despite the complete lack of original writing? And then the movies that have aliens or a sense of humor are tossed aside like there nothing special. I know, I'm just ranting my own anger on the comment space of a cool vid. Nice mashup!

  • I don't know! I hate when movies get nominated that I have never even heard of!

  • @ThatDamnLobster I can sort of agree. A Serious Man was awfully abused by the mainstream, but the two war movies that were nominated this year lacked anything except writing! I hate Avatar, but I was more likely born to hate anything James Cameron shit straight into his writers hands'. Just my rant, just my opinion.

  • good job on the vid. Forrest kicksass

  • Thank you!

  • What is the name of the song that it changes to at 0:53?

The first one is "My name is Lincoln"...

  • the movie that wins is the one movie on the list i never heard about

  • PAHAHAHAHA! That's funny!

  • Watch it. Its intense.

  • @joeandhishobo Never heard of Hurt Locker? Go watch it. Third best nominee this year, in my opinion.

  • avatar story is pochahontas if anyone hasnt figured that out yet. still most entertaining movie Ive seen in a long time

  • Very Pocahontas indeed, and Dances with Wolves!

  • True. I agree. A movie doesn't have to be good in order to be epic if you know what I mean.

Movies like Forrest Gump are just another thing. No question that Forrest Gump beats Avatar in all categories.

  • YOU ARE MY HERO!!!!!!!! Forrest Gump is the shit :)

  • Forrest Gump is an awesome movie, one of my favs, but I think it's not only unfair, but incorrect to say that it beats Avatar in ALL categories...

Just for example, Avatar made HEAPS more money than Forrest Gump did, it was much more aesthetically pleasing, more action and more excitement...

whether it was BETTER or not...well...that's for everyone to decide for themselves...

But the facts remain as they are and speak for themselves.

    That said.... Forrest Gump rocks!

  • @JasserSchram I think I kinda expressed it wrong:

I like to say that Forrest Gump is (in my opinion) just another category of movies.

  • Except visually.

  • @accuratesheep Mostly avatar was good cause of the effeckts... And it all ran very smooth and all the color full stuff... But you can talk about the storie... Dunno think it went to fast

  • @accuratesheep OMG YOOOO Forrest Gump Is my favortie movies hands down U R 100000000% RIGHT!!!!!

  • I'm tired of the Academy's bias against science fiction films.

  • @MasterOranda there is no bias, avatar sucked in every field except special affects. the story is nothing new, had weak charechters and the dialogue was absolutely shit, nothing clever about it or original

  • @MasterOranda

well yea ur right, but i hope u r talking about district 9 not avatar

  • Avatar was one of the best entertaining movies I've seen. Although the story line was more of "I hate you, I love you." jumping from one to the next, I enjoyed the movie.

  • yea it was but still the story was a very good story but a very old one..the moral was like " we need to take care of the planet and each other like how god made be" but still was entertaining and a very good movie all togeher...it had everything

  • The song was originally composed for Michael Bays the Island, it's called my name is Linchon.

  • Actually the first song was originally in The Island, titled, "I Am Lincoln" It's at the very end when they all get out...well...not sure if the song was ORIGINALLY there, but it was definitely before Avatar...it may be easier to find.

  • k thanks

  • k welcome.

  • can someone please tell me what song it is between 0:10 and 0:52 please and thank you

  • It's all music from AVATAR.

  • It´s "My Name is Licoln" by Steve Jablonsky from the The Island Score.

  • @Nexus1987N11

its a song from the end of the island movie

    "My Name Is Lincoln"

  • @Nexus1987N11 Actually it was originally in The Island, called "My name is Lincoln"...it's at the end, when they all run out. well...I don't know if it was ORIGINALLY in that movie, but it was definitely in that one before Avatar...

  • @Nexus1987N11 It was in "The Island" before it was in Avatar...titled "I am Lincoln"...from the very end when they run out. Don't know if it was ORIGINALLY from that, but it was definitely before Avatar...

And the comment thingy looks like it's screwing up for me, so I'm sorry if this is posted more than once...

  • What's the music you used?

  • Score from Avatar by Steve Jablonsky

  • When will people understand?

The trailer music is not necessarily the score!

The trailer music for Avatar is from Audiomachine and Steve Jablonsky (originally used for The Island OST). Avatar´s score is composed by James Horner!

  • My apologies. I was informed with the wrong movie. I just know the score is indeed the work of Jablonsky.

  • Avatar was by far the most entertaining movie. Don't know if the Acadameny chooses on that alone.

  • Aliens from District 9 are more realistic than the Na'vi from Avatar.

  • Debatable!!!!!

  • Well in Avatar the ears look fake and you can tell what actor it is but the landscape looks great.

  • I loved avatar's visuals but hated the unoriginal story. Even though I haven't seen the Hurt Locker ( I only knew about it right before the Oscars), I bet that's why it won, it's story.

  • because im a loser and have nothing else to do than watch movies all day i've seen all of those movies. to be honest the hurt locker wouldnt have been my first choice. it took way to long to get to the story. inglorious bastards would've been my first choice, then avatar, next a seriouse man then up an then preciouse. all the story lines were great and you could tell how hard everyone in the films worked hard

  • Nice way to list them. I love A SERIOUS MAN.

  • Your list would have been o.k without Avatar. When you added Avatar you lost all credibility.

  • lol what? The story of Hurt Locker beings from the start.

  • I swear I never heard of this film "An Education".

  • Well that's too bad, because it was really good.

  • It's a really good movie. Starring Carey Mulligan. Check it out when you have a moment.

  • why didn't Inglourious Basterds win... hands down best movie of the year

  • I saw "the hurt locker" yesterday, and I think it got what it deserved... YES: "Avatar" is an Epic Movie, possibly one of the best ever, however so is "the hurt locker" if you havnt seen it you cant say "AVATAR" SHOULD HAVE WON... watch the hurt locker and you wont be dissapointed =D

  • @tomclaxton1 i agree with you. They deserved it!!! n I'm damn happy they Won!!!

  • all those movies suck. troll4life

  • @trollyourmama i dont even

  • Well...Oscar just showed world that they dont care about ppl...Avatar was absolute Winner...

  • It showed that a bad story and terrible acting, glossed over with CGI does not win awards.

  • I would have liked to see A Serious Man, District 9, or Inglorious Basterds win.

  • Out of your three...I would've liked A Serious Man to win.

  • @ScottishDuckHunter it won a golden globe

  • @DoubleNCorporation It's not about the people...that's the People's Choice awards...duh.

  • Its the Oscars, not the Teen Choice Awards.

  • Hahahaha. Nice point.

  • pretty good

  • I just saw a good porn movie last night. That should've won best picture.

  • @jpgrygus haha name plz?

  • Hurt Locker was an okay movie, but not an Oscar movie.

I believe the reason why Avatar was ridiculed and did not get the votes stems from the Academies fear that in the future, actors could be replaced by 0s & 1s (CGI).

  • i think if avatar had come out later in the year it would have had a better chance

  • It always had no chance. They just nominated it because it made alot of money. There was nothing special about it.

  • As you can tell...the Academy is very biased.

  • @larkwen50 later than december 18th?

  • Or maybe it was the terrible acting and story. Just a guess.

  • Best picture for the hurt locker against Avatar?

Bet the jury was made up of 80yo farts still dreaming at the time they had last felt activity in the lower part of their body.

  • Never mind the fact that the hurt locker was just a better movie that did not rely almost entirely on eye candy.

  • LOL!

  • jim cameron had his run i think if avatar got it i wouldve had titanic flashbacks

  • Good point!

  • i can't believe an education was nominated, that movie sucked, the acting was so awkward, the older guy was just creepy and the protaganist was way too naive, almost stupid.

  • But don't you think at all...it was somewhat interesting? I personally liked it because she was, well, yes a bit naive, but it almost seemed nice. Their relationship together :D

  • i'm sorry but no, the relationship just seemed so superficial, wasn't really grounded. I felt like they could have made this a good movie but it felt too forced? almost too fast? can't really describe it but it felt like it was too absurd, not realistic ( i know its a movie but it has to be at least somewhat believable for the audience) and her for being so 'smart' was overly naive and rash. And that banana scene was among numerous indicators that he was creepin big time.

  • Comment removed

  • Wow, Pocahon-... I mean Avatar lost, huh? Well, it was a good movie, but Hurt Locker was more... how should I put this... human sympathetic.

  • and that's exactly why it won, Politics. Don't get me wrong, The Hurt Locker was exciting and a fun watch even if it was pretty inaccurate, it was not a documentary and another Hollywood film so i won't complain there. but really, what was the hurt locker and what did it accomplish? Another "real-looking, intense" war movie that really made no contributions to film making. Avatar pushed technology to new limits with motion capture and cgi and revolutionized 3d.something that's never going away.

  • VERY TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • avatar!!!!!!!

  • HAS ENOUGH MONEY. hahaha!

  • ok would everybody stop posting shit about how avatar should have won already, look yes i think avatar should have won and yes i think it was the best movie of all time. but i dont fucking care that the hurt locker took best picture award. hell i bet half of the people dising the hurt locker has never even seen it

  • You make a good point.
