Excellent Video!. Pervious concrete has been utilized for many years in the U.S. from the NW to the SE for over 20 years and with proper design, installation, and maintanence it will stand up to the test of time. It's held in freeze thaw climates such as Chicago and the NE. Momentive's innovative pervious additive (HexiCrete PC-350) eliminates the need for plastic/visquine covering during curing! - Check out the momentive hexiCrete youtube videos and momentivehexiCrete website
As long as the Engineers specifications for the subbase are followed there should be no chance for sinkholes to develope. The stone base under the pervious is designed to capture the water from the pervious and then disperse it back into the aquafir. there is also a layer of geotextile fabric that seperates the stone subbase from the subbgrade. The engineer will spec the depth of the stone base.

In a commercial application a vacuum truck is used to keep the surface free of debris. This is done at least once a year.
