Great car and sounds sick! At 1:50, you forgot to heel-and-toe downshift to match the engine speed with the transmission. That's why the engine revved high.

@eldom20 thanks, but look closely at the footwork and listen--you can hear the "puff" of the throttle plate opening just before the revs go up. In other words, it was just that precise, and with the lightweight flywheel it is instant :)

What about the handling? I love the handling of the miatas, and with the turbo abrupt power delivery, maybe the handling will be more difficult. isn't it?

The handling is preserved. Very little extra weight is added and the responsiveness of the ball bearing turbo rivals a supercharger at higher RPMs (above 4k)

the "MZR" L-engine is a total departure from the old, small-form B-series engines... NC has huuge potential over NA/NB

schade das er nicht auf der autobahn war da hätte er gas geben können, dann hätte man gesehen wie das ding wirklich abgeht. obwohl falls es ein ami war die dürfen ja auch nur 130 aufm highway fahren..... gelobtes deutschland ohne geschwindigkeits begrenzung ;)

Thanks for posting. At 230 whp you may have some issues with that gearbox -- they're generally bombproof but only to a point and at 250 hp you may have crossed it. Curious about what brand turbo kit you used -- Is the hiss & whistle as prominent as it appears on the video? I'm not sure I could live with that!

the hiss that varies with RPM is due to using an unshielded mic. The turbo noises are about right though and are very liveable. Under normal driving you don't hear it.

Nice one. I have a 20. NC too. How much HP and nm is it? Is the gearbox still stock?

230WHP, 199TQ with stock exhaust, gearbox is stock, reported to withstand much more HP than that (just about the same as an rx8)
