The BBC make and fund some of the best television in the world and they do it on a tight budget. If ITV is how you want your entertainment to go then I'd recommend suicide as an alternative to paying your TV licence.

was he allowed to ask my kid for personal information or he should have come back another time? help advice etc.
@jessylotti hi, there's a channel called TheTVLicence it's at the bottom of my suggestions and it has links to anti-TV Licence sites, they have about your rights, ask the person who's channel it is, maybe they can suggest which one's best, hope it helps.
We as a nation need to stand up against The BBC Tele Tax.
We as a nation need to stop watching the BBC channels.
We as a nation will be united by not watching them.
We as a nation will be £145.50 a year better off.
We as a nation can use that on getting our economy moving.
We as a nation can win this war.
Continue to pay The Tele Tax for now. You're not breaking the law by not watching the BBC channels. You can watch any other channel. Just don't watch the BBC channels.
the more people that stop paying the licence the more it will go up , then more people will not pay the licence , the license fee is a disgrace and people should have the right to choose and not be blackmailed into paying for the most basic form of entertainment
The BBC get far to much money from us ,just look at the stupid sums paid to presenters, DJ's and the like, all these fat cats are living off our back and as far as im aware we are the only country to impose this on its people ,every one else competes on quality of service
But what really frightens the BBC, as well as the entire British Establishment, is the emergence of an identity and culture that could unite the English and see English people demanding independence from the United Kingdom. If this ever happened, it would mean the end of Great Britain. And If there were no Great Britain...the BBC would cease to exist. So the English have to be mocked, put down, berated, and made to feel worthless
I have noticed a pattern: The BBC dislikes the English, and seems suspicious of the Welsh; but it positively loves the Scottish and the Irish, and this often leads to anti-English and occasionally Anti-Welsh broadcasts. I suppose this occurs because the Scottish and Irish are seen as victims of the 'nasty old English'; also, many BBC workers claim to be Irish or Scottish, even though they are as English as a cup of tea, and seem to develop an anti-English grudge as a result
@DavyTom71 you are correct sir, as an Irishman I've seen this sycophantic victim role played out...We too refuse the TV licience and are taking our country back...Best of luck to you and yours...
Thank you for your kind words. It is good to see that the Irish do not like to be patronised by the BBC. The main reason for this sycophantic attitude is because the BBC is unionist and wants to win over the Irish and keep you all in the United Kingdom. Good luck with your struggle...all the peoples of these islands have the right to self-determination
Shows such as 'Live at the Apollo', 'Mock the Week', 'Family Guy' and many Radio 4 comedies such as 'The Now Show' are often Anti-English. It seems like comedy is the BBCs preferred weapon-of-choice for promoting its Anti-English agenda, but it will also use drama or so-called 'factual' documentaries; for instance, 'When the Immigrants Went Home' was blatantly anglophobic.
Perhaps I should not use the phrase 'hate the British people'. But many people who work at the BBC are highly middle-class London-based workers who hold liberal, London-centric, left-wing, pro-EU, and anti-patriotic views, which puts them odds with the majority of British people (i.e. the English) - who are naturally conservative, anti-EU, and mildly right-wing and patriotic. So the BBC shows its contempt for English people in comedy shows or documentaries.
I feel great not watching that much television anymore. If people I know gossip about celebrities or what they saw on tv, I don't participate in the conversation, because it's meaningless and they got nothing going in their own lives.
Solution is to stop paying it and just use TV for watching DVDs/playing consoles... When you get out of the habit of switching on the box every evening and zoning out, your life and mind get better ...but maybe that's what the government is afraid of...
Spot on. Since I stopped viewing that stupid gogglebox I think more, read more, and question their 'facts' more.
TV (particularly the BBC) is mind control. The only thing I miss about the BBC is Mishal Husain, but what the hell, I can see her on youtube anyway hahahaa
i never watch bbc why should i have to pay for it, why don't they make all bbc channels a monthly subscription to people who actually want to watch it.
I hate the BBC. This organisation hates the British people, especially the English, and then forces us to pay for their crap. They do not even make decent television shows anymore. Compare the quality of their dramas or comedies with those made in the US and you can see how British licence payers are being ripped off
@DavyTom71, please explain your hypothesis as to how the BBC hate the British people please. Your views interest me. Everything happens for a reason, good or bad.
You don't need one if you're not watching BBC channels either; at least that would be the grounds for a legal battle.
Face it these over-inflated egomaniacs have no more powers than any other business out there. What they're doing is like Powergen billing you for power even though you're with EON.
You have seen all of these videos on YouTube right?
Just keep sending them to your MPs by email, click the "SHARE" link at the bottom left and paste your MPs email address in the box, you can easily find it on the Internet.
It also happens in Japan. If unpaid on a monthly basis for 3 consecutive months, your screen will end up confiscated, fining you over 330 billion yen, and you will from 15-50 years in prison
TV licensing are true believers. Telly has it's own royalty, own sermons, has tremendous power over it's minions and is tyrannical toward non-believers, who it's thinks could not possibly exist. It's going down.
I'm American, and as much as people over here say that TV 'sucks', it's actually MUCH BETTER here than across the pond. Here, you ust subscribe the cable services such as Verizon (The old Bell Telephone Company) and Comcast. Our BBC is PBS, and some BBC programmes are shown over here. All PBS does is occasional "pledge" drives. Our TV is entirely funded through adverts. Many classics air over here plus many cable channels have some really good shows. The're only about 60 UK channel, vs 100 here
why do you need a 32" screen lol. or an HD one? just buy a smaller screen, they're not that bad. if you really can't afford the license fee then why are you shopping around looking for the biggest best screens you can find?
The licence fee does not go to the BBC it goes to the gov. The old BBC does not even exist it was taken over by BBC Worldwide LTD in 1999, the 50 years of old BBC TV archive is just the perfect make money machine, they did £120 Billion GBP in global sales last year, but NO dividend was ever paid to the UK licence payers that are kept in the dark and well harried with psychological control from a talking puppet sofa TV advert, demanding yet more cash from the UK public or jail. This con is BIG!!
I did put in a vid response and comment, but nothing appeared sorry!
Anyhow as regards having a TV for games or DVD's makes no difference, with or without a receiver. I found out through TV Licensing and that wasn't the half of it
You may want to give them another call back then and explain again because it sounds like you got talking to someone that doesn't know what they were doing. They said that to me on the phone, and there's a guy that works for them who commented on my video saying the same thing :)
Although I don't want to come across as still supporting the TV License; just trying to help you out from what I know/have experienced with my phone calls.
I have tried again, but it's still the same crap. I even told them I'd remove the receiver but they say as long as you own a TV you still have to pay, because you might adapt it back to receiving again.
Either way you can't win, they're just plain arrogant.
So let's not carry on with this and try and bring as many people as possible together to sign this petition. The sooner we rid the country of these toerags the better lol!
Are you aware that you're paying for a TV licence needlessly? Whoever you spoke to at TVL lied to you. If you're just using your telly for games and vids, you're doing nothing illegal. You don't even have to phone them to tell them the situation. Just ignore them, keep using your telly, and bin any letters they send you. TVL rely almost entirely on people not knowing their rights and that TVL have no more legal or regulatory powers than a double-glazing firm or local builder's yard.
@madmanmikey100 its wrong u only need one IF you use your tv to recieve LIVE broadcasts. u could use it for cctv or ps2/xbox watch dvd etc you dont need licence for any of that ONLY TO WATCH LIVE BROADCASTS.
@madmanmikey100 YOU DONT NEED A TV LICENCE TO OWN A TV. If you want proof let me know. Whether they said or not, beleive me you don't legally need one unless you are watching television that is not recorded.

Also, never sign anything and never let them into your house. Their threats and attempts to intimidate can be safely ignored.
