Unbelievable... "Civilian national security force" refers to the civil servants - teachers, job trainers, and Peace Corps members we need more of. Obama merely suggested  they need to receive as much financial backing as the military does in this country. Is that not reasonable? Please watch the actual video "Barack Obama: Call to Service in Colorado Springs, CO" especially from 13:00 - 17:00 (wherein lies the clip Beck used) to get some context people.

A civilian defence force would only be necessary unless there was a plan to take complete control over America and weed out what he considers undesireables or threats to his power! Glenn Beck is always misinterpreted metaphors.

A civilian national security force (not civilian MILITARY) is a metaphor for civilian action, for expanding peace corps. Peace corps - domestic stability through volunteer efforts...

"just as strong, just as powerful" is talking about force of influence, not physical strength -_- This is a bad distortion, and if you had half a mind to just GOOGLE this first, you would find it false.

And we does he compare it to the Military?

What purpose, could this Federal Domestic Military Force do, that can't be done by the National Guard?

There is a reason why it is illegal for the Federal Military to operate in the States. The only military force allowed in the States are National Guardsmen

I watched it, but Obama there was talking about what sounds like a volunteer organization to provide public service. Now in the clip Glen Beck provides, Obama isn't talking about general public service, but specificaly about a "civilian NATIONAL SECURITY force".... slightly different.

A perfect example of the unbelievable contempt Glenn Beck has for himself and his audience. If you want to know where that excerpt comes from and the context of his "civilian security force" you have to listen to at least seventeen minutes of a twenty six minute address given by Obama on the 2nd of July 2008 in Colorado. Go look it up. To quote Kipling, "....if you can bear to hear the words you've spoken, twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools." Beck is beneath contempt. He's pathetic.
