In family guy, it's horribly inconsistent. I could go into a million examples but this comment board only let's me type 400 characters. This show is better than family guy in so many ways now, and that's because it still uses one thing shows like family guy and south park have completely forgot about, and that's satire.

Family Guy and South Park both fell into the same trap...they became too crass and too inane, in effect become mockeries of themselves. Once you cross a certain line merely for the sake of crossing it or stoop to some new low just for the sake of proving that you will do anything to get the transitory laugh, you have to continue to crawl deeper and deeper into the morass to compete with your own self-established lack of limits or standards, thereby becoming your own worst enemy.

@comicbookhaven I agree with you, I stopped watching family guy about two years ago for the same reasons. The episodes just became to predictable and the writers were more focused on making you gag than writing a good plot. The flashbacks became longer and more pointless. Same thing with south park. I stopped watching that show around 2005 because the plots became to ridiculous and preachy. hey focused ore on the gags and trying to see how much rage they could attract.

Me too. I'm a steadfast conservative republican, but I find this show to be hilarious. The thing is, we all need to take a good long hard look at ourselves, and not be afraid to laugh once in a while.

But when these folks say "we're trying to walk the line between right and left" they clearly aren't- in American Dad, Stan is always an aggresive, hateful, idiot, while Hailey is usually an intelligent, caring person, and sometimes the only one who makes sense.
