You might want to look at the few cases in which Indian fathers lose their parents and wifes because their family embraced evangelical Christianity. Further more most American evangelists use charity in order to spread a divisive and god fearing faith. There is hardly and quality in their new converts just quantity. I have no objections to Mongolians becoming Christians. However I object to the methods in which they were converted. Just like in my country Sri Lanka you are either converted through lurement or mass village education. This is where a pastor comes and a whole village is unwittingly baptised. Any attempts to bring back traditional culture thoughts and religious values are met with hostility and fear. Families are seperated and torn apart and eventually a new breed of evangelists are born.

I've known Christians -both Mongolian and Western- that have lived in Mongolia since the mid-1980's and when Russia left -and left no medical help- it wasn't the Dalai Lama who organised the buddhist world to help a desperate plight- it was Christians (the govt were very grateful then). I have taken the time to study many religions of the world. I have no time for Abraham based religions, and that is based upon years of study .

Religion is a strange thing. Personally I dont mind people having different religions as long as they live the way they want and stay happy. We all should be open minded. During Genghis Khaan's reign, the special thing about him is that he allowed anyone to have their own religion and beliefs. I believe thats one of the major factors that lead him to success. Im a Mongolian and I'm 'more' of an Atheist if there's such a term.

Christianity was birthed in Israel not the west and it has spread around the world, if you dont' like it dont believe in it, thats your choice, its not like islam, it wont force you to convert. I've known Christians -both Mongolian and Western- that have lived in Mongolia since the mid-1980's and when Russia left -and left no medical help- it wasn't the Dalai Lama who organised the buddhist world to help a desperate plight- it was Christians (the govt were very grateful then). True not all 'christianity' there is wonderful - but I don't notice the buddhist lamas 'respecting traditional' western culture with their ideas -especially the dalai lama:his books are everywhere in the west!

One pastor told me that while Christianity as a church is spreading in Mongolia and China, but basic bible knowledge is not spreading as fast. Most Christians in those areas go to church to get a good feeling, hope for a miracle, have their needs met . . .but rarely study the Bible.
