Tom Mesereau also requested Jordan as a defense witness. Tom M is on video explaining that he wanted Jordan to lie on the witness stand, because he was prepared with witnesses willing to come in a testify that Jordan had told them Michael never touched him in 1993.

stonegrooved I keep telling you, a criminal case cannot be settled out of court. Despite the civil case, if foul play truly occurred, it doesn't make sense that chandler didn't also pursue the criminal one. He would have kept the money either way. @kurarisusa - Not just that but a civil settlement doesn't prevent a jury from indicting a defendant for separate criminal claims and it doesn't prevent prosecutors from subpoenaing a plaintiff to testify in criminal court. In fact, the settlement document says specifically that the Chandlers can still be subpoenaed to testify against Jackson and that Jackson can't withhold money from the Chandlers no matter what they do.
Civil settlements aren't even admissible in court as evidence of guilt.

@kurarisusa - A civil settlement can't be used against you in any future civil or criminal cases because civil cases don't have to do with guilt (which is defined in American law as violation of the penal code) in the first place. A settlement isn't a jury verdict so it can't be used as evidence of liability either since no liability was determined.
That's why job applications don't ask you if you've ever accepted or given a settlement. They may ask you about a Plea Bargain though.
