she is of course amazing...I am just wondering how accurate the translation is. clearly it is not as literal and word-for-word a translation...for instance, the line "que deviens-tu" was translated as "how's life for you"...I had been thinking "what has become of you" maybe? I guess I am not grasping the subtleties if the phrase.
it is just hard for someone like me...either way, I'm not getting the whole thing. in English I am sure a lot of connotations and subtle meanings are lost, while in
Who cares if the song is in French, english, chinese or papuu..it beautyfull as the singer (Celine Dion) and great as the author ( Jean-Jacques Goldman) ..I hope a spanish and italian and maybee if we are lucky, a vietnamese version...=)
The french version, which is the original version is soooooooooo much better...the words are awesome...more poetic...Céline sings with more feelings and intensity...now dont get me wrong....i still like the english version, however when Céline sings in her native language which is french...not only does she gives me goosebumps, but her voice sounds wayyy better!! Love ya Céline xo♥ en français ou en anglais ♥

even though I'm a french canadian i don't like better the french one I think the english one is good though! i don't think the french version is better I think for me it doesn't matter cause it's celine Dion and I love her!!! if she sngs in english or in french I don't care as long as she sings!!
When she says et je t,aime encore you translate this by I LOVE YOU STILL...
This is such a beautiful song. It's the only time I've felt the English version to be almost as good as the French one. Celine nails every song she sings. She's amazing!
This is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever listened to. Celion Dion has re-created magic with her songs..i get goosebumps every time i listen to her songs..I love her voice. Thanks for posting it. Do you have more songs of her album - I Drove All Night? Please post them too if you can..
I love ths song, however, agree that it is more meaningful in French, If I didn't have the english version, I wouldn't know what was being sung..but who cares...I love it!!!
i love this song so much.. i didnt know wut she was saying in the French one but i could still sing it.. i knew how to say the words i just didnt know wut they ment. lol.. but now i do listening to the english.. this is my favorite song ever i love celine..
I am just now learning French, so the English version I can actually understand by far...but the French version is WAY better in my honest opinion. <3 Celine!
Wow, never knew she did an english version to this song!
It rocks, however I feel it looses iits special meaning once translated.
It seems to lack passion and feeling when it's translated. I am english and cannot understand one word of french, well only the basics, and yet I prefer listening to the french stuff in french. I am studying french to do this and understand it fully. So I can also feel the emotion and understand the feeling that she gives in her french songs!
yeah me too - normally if i like the tune i can get away without understandign the song (like the song Je T'aime by this other guy) i think is beautiful and i don't get it! this one however i need the english oterhwise its pointless to me. ;) thanks for uploading
@eliezer272003 Well, it's just as good...not better.... Actually, I like the French version better. But I may be bias as I'm fluent in both Canadian Official languages so what you like is what you like. Wonder if she can do it in other Latin languages ....They are the most beautiful lnaguages................. eh? :-)
I'm a huge fan of Celine Dion. If you notice, she has a recurring, kind of endearing trait of getting the sounds "Ow" and "I" mixed up when they're close. In this song she says "Fownly" instead of "Finally".
wonderful !!!

This is such a beautiful song. However I think it looses some sense when sung in English. I definetely prefer the french version.

that song is beautiful in french and in english, but i agree with most other people, i like the french version better.
even though i have no idea what the words mean, i honestly, can hear more "passion" or "emotion" when it's sung in french...but beautiful song.
