The Confederacy as a country would have been an interesting experiment. Slavery would probably have not lasted past the late 1800s. However the states right principle behind the Confederacy could have been applied to modern issues of contention such as abortion, street drugs, health care, etc. Would it be best to let the states decide what's best for their populations or would it lead to more disintegration? Would the Confederacy have remained united or had their own civil war?

The south never had a chance of winning the war because the north had over 100,000 reserves left at the end the south had none. 2nd if the south would have won north America would be more like Europe. I stumbled across this song following Hank's recent controversy, and saw many claims about how the war was not over slavery, and I decided to say that it was. Also, even if Lincoln had cast off the south and let the confederates leave, war still would have been inevitable. This is because of expansion to the west and all of its resources.

Abe Lincoln only outlawed slavery in the Conferderate states, the states he had no power over. all the states in the union that had slavery were allowed to keep it as a reward for staying. And at the time of the proclomation, the confederacy was in full swing, so no a single slave went free because of it. the south did not split over slavery. they split because of economic reasons. the north was forcing them to buy overpriced goods from them, instead of the reasonably priced ones from britain.

South Carolina was the first state to secede and in their declaration of secession they make it very clear that they see slavery on its way to extinction and illegality and they want to keep their slaves. @cscptdave I argue because it's fun. Honestly, though I try to keep things civil(no pun intended) and use as many facts as possible to back up my claims. I stumbled across this song following Hank's recent controversy, and saw many claims about how the war was not over slavery, and I decided to say that it was. Also, even if Lincoln had cast off the south and let the confederates leave, war still would have been inevitable. This is because of expansion to the west and all of its resources.

The South even treated Northern generals that had black soldiers under them like shit, just because they led black soldiers. If the south would had became it's own recognized nation, slavery would have eventually been abolished or just died off by itself. That's what happens when technology progresses, which it was at the time. You'd have no need for slaves when you can have payed two or three people to work as apposed to having the cost to house, feed, cloth, and take care of dozens of slaves...that's simple business right there.

Abe Lincoln only outlawed slavery in the Conferderate states, the states he had no power over. all the states in the union that had slavery were allowed to keep it as a reward for staying. And at the time of the proclomation, the confederacy was in full swing, so no a single slave went free because of it. the south did not split over slavery. they split because of economic reasons. the north was forcing them to buy overpriced goods from them, instead of the reasonably priced ones from britain.

also, although most of the north had no slavery, they were far more racist than the south. hardly any of the slave owners were evil like in the movies. the majority of them kept slaves as though they were family, and the slave children and the owners children grew up playing together. the north however, was very racist. they were mad because they believed freed black people were taking all the jobs, and they would have riots where they beat and killed black people in the streets.
