We need to go back to the roots of Straight Edge (something Have Heart obviously understood). It's more than not doing drugs and alcohol. Re read the lyrics please. And go back in time. The straight edge movement was like an accidental baby. Not once in that song does Ian say "i dont drink" he focuses on the aspect of people who go to shows and just smoke dope and do crack. He doesnt mention alcohol in that song once.

Ian didnt know what the fuck he was doing when he wrote that song. His fans brought straight edge to where it is today, Ians song just sparked it.

My point still stands if you read the lyrics to Out Of Step, he may not have mentioned drinking in the song Straight Edge, but he did certainly mention smoking drinking and promiscuity in later songs. The SONG Straight Edge doesn't define the straight edge movement as much as some of Ian's other songs, strangely enough.
