Guys I'v owned many many toranas and plenty of V6 and V8 commodores and i can tell you now that no stock V6 commodore was as quick as my SS not even my VR SS 5.0ltr was as quick, Only the Gen III LS1 comodores are quicker.

Never underestimate a V8 Torana and just remember they weighed only about 1200kg compared to todays 1700+ kg cars.

The v6's of today are so much faster than the old v8's....

4.2 litre V8 VB commodore=87kw

0-100=13.4 sec (automatic)

3.5 litre toyota aurion = 200kw

0-100=7sec (automatic)

But they did sound good

teacher at skool was telling me he used 2 own black slr5000 torana in the late 70's early 80's i think.He said in those days it used 2 run 11 sec 1/4 miles.Which back then was pretty good.

1/4 mile= 15.9sec

The new v6 commodores shit on the
