  • Spock can defend himself better than anyone else. good fighin' moves that I'd do in the same situation. this Spock is mo' emotional because a nerve pinch would've subdued any of 'em.

  • masterful application of the Kirk power fist by Mirror Spock at 1:25

  • jeeze I hate uhura's fighting like I love her but when I see her twirl into that wall im like -__-

  • fuck these fucking adverts!! FUCK

  • nothing beats good 'ol obvious stunt doubles :)

  • When will Star Trek be public domain?

  • @sniper6081 The day Paramount Pictures goes bankrupt.

  • @chrisman737 It doesn't work that way. There's a cut off period after a certain amount of years goes by when no one can own the rights to deemed intellectual property and it becomes available for the public to use for free. I was only asking how much longer it would be until Star Trek is public domain.

  • @sniper6081 , oh yes it does work that way. Paramount owns Star Trek outright, and if they choose they can subsume the original series under current protection. Now it is almost fifty years since the original series, but I have a feeling it won't go public domain for quite some time. Under normal conditions something becomes public domain about 50 years after the death of the copyright holder. With Star Trek, Paramount will protect it as long as it can -- forever if possible.

  • @chrisman737 Oh. I see.

  • I just kept playing 1:12 over...and over....and over...

  • Good Uhura saves the day, does all the heavy interpretation of events and lingual neceseties in an ongoing mission crititcal and survival oriented exchange of ideas and actions... and WHO gets the credit? THE MAN! Damn it, I thought the 60's were about equality and truth!

  • Spock may have had the phaser, but Kirk had the fake skull. In other words, Fake Skulls are always > Hand Held Phasers especially in a fight.

  • 1:22 That's using your head, Captain!

  • A vulcan has three times the strength of a human.

  • ONE they all suck at fighting :) and TWO there is no way that spock (or evil spock) would die because someone decided to break a fake skull on his head :)

  • If I ever get into a fight in Star Trek, I don't want Dr. McCoy on my team. I love the guy, but he sucks in a fist fight. Seriously, go watch ever fight he's in, he almost always gets taken out by his opponent.

  • the stunt double looks nothing like spock lol

  • why are they all wearing these shiny golden fagbands=

  • how is it that Kirk is the ONLY guy who actually managed to lay a damn hand on Spock?! XD

  • Spock owned all their asses!

  • I always wondered if they use doubles because they need to shoot more angles without the actors or if the actors are too afraid to actually act out a real fight scene.

  • @pedazodeboludo

They are called "stunt doubles" for a reason.

It depends on the actor. Some do their own stunts, some don't. Sometimes the studio will not let an actor do a stunt they think is too dangerous and could injure one of the stars, and delay filming.

The REALLY good stunt doubles, you won't even know the difference. Some of them really look like the original actors. Of course, in this scene, it's fairly obvious Spock isn't Spock even from a distance. Even Uhura isn't the same.

  • 0:20

  • Easy to forget how athletic Bill SHatner was in his youth.

  • I love how HD television lets use see how obvious it is that half the fight scene has stunt doubles that look nothing like Nimoy or Shatner.

  • This is my favorite episode of TOS.

  • The Episode that inspired a progressive rock band...

  • 1:04, Kirk kicking Spock's BALLZ like a boss.

  • haha at 0:53 u can tell how uhura is faking

  • The one thing about this scene that I dislike/don't get is the fact that Kirk can knock Spock out merely by breaking a skull over his head (okay fine, that makes a bit of sense) but what doesn't make sense is why Spock'll die without immediate treatment. Answer, anybody?

  • @StoneKnivesBearskins I don't know... but maybe it has something to do with bleeding in the brain?

  • @StoneKnivesBearskins Concussion might not be good for the Vulcan brain maybe? They do have internal differences than Terrans (humans).

  • heehee. it makes me happy because I'm wearing a shirt with a picture of GoodSpock and EvilSpock on it.

The only problem is that I spilled coke on GoodSpock. :(

Spock ROCKS, no matter which universe he is in (except for the new jjabrams universe. ZQ stinks)

  • why does no one question kirk's 'uniforms'?! the new ones mostly have that gi-style wrap front and sometimes too thin to be uniform material and in this one: without necessary sleeves! yikes the costuming dept for the show were really bad at dressing a character!

  • so at 1:30, I was seriously like wft?? Cabbage?

  • WHERE ARE THE EPISODES?!?!?! THEY WERE HERE A FEW MONTHS AGO!!!!!

  • Very good!

  • mirror mirror on the wall how could this be it all ( idk made it up by watching this)

  • oh Bones *hugs* such a badmouthed sweetheart lol.

  • ADS ADS AnD ADS COMEON

  • the backwards head-butt Kirk does is actually epic :D

  • Have you ever noticed that when Spock fights anyone, he's always like, "Your ass: Let me hand it to you."

  • A Vulcan is five times stronger than a human.

  • @orionpirates

Actually 3x. it's made clear in the ds9 episode take me out to the holosuite

  • This was pretty well done for the budget available. Its also the first time you realize just how much stronger spock is than everyone else. I mean you already knew he was stronger, but 4 on 1? damn.

  • hard to believe that would knock spock out..

  • @car4dave this would totally NOT knock Spock out!

I doubt it would knock my 7 yr old son out, with the amount of fighting he does his bones must be quite strong by now ;) And a Vulcan? Wishful thinking on the part of the story writer.

  • lol at 0:54

  • Apparently in the future there is no such thing as a "low-blow"

  • Thing is he's not EVIL Spock, he's Mirror Spock and as Kirk says, he's a man of integrity in both universes.

    Spock Rocks!

  • I was brought up on this.....THIS IS THE SHIT....lol

  • omg Spock is awesome there was four people and he basically beat them all!!!

lol when Jim smashed the item on Spock's head, i was like "that's cheating"

i also find it humoring how spock's eyes get really big at 1:24 after kirk hit him across the face

  • They were FOUR on Spock, and he kicked their asses beautifully!

  • @Hootshot112 I should hope so, as he's five times stronger than a human.

  • Check out Uhura thumping against the wall at 1:13!

  • It's a good thing Evil Uhura never had a goatee.

  • @BinkieMcFartnuggets

she did have one but it wasn't on her face ... yrrrrrr!!!

  • @BinkieMcFartnuggets

CBS was just not allowed to show it no TV back then, come to think of they still can't.

  • spock is over powered... lol

  • In the wide shots, you can tell it is a stunt man taking Spock's place.

  • I think almost every Star Trek fan will agree that the evil Spock is way better than the regular one.

  • But it is illogical to be evil. Evilness being based on emotions such as jealousy or selfishness...

but yeah, evil Spock is pretty awesome :)

  • @kirkenbunken He is not better, evil Spock is awesome, regular Spock is awesome and every single Spock in all the universes is awesome! :P

  • ONE of the top 10 episodes of this series! LOOOOOOVEEE IT!!!!

  • I LOVE MONAPOLY!!!!!!!!
