Badagry is the only slave coast of Nigeria and the slave dungeon is still there today. Badagry is one of the tourist centre of Lagos. The first story building in Lagos was in Badagry. The Badagry people are well known fishermen.

  • I LOVE NIGERIA

  • or what d'you think?

Would you like to know the second point ? That's towards the end at arround 04:40-something secs..when she raised up her hands..I dont like the kind of feelings she gave me ironically speaking..I feel like jumping at her and carrying up into the air!...And just that! Again, the work soothes!

  • I feel you, i wouldn't sue her though, rather i'd buy her one of these circular metal thingies and a white dress with a veil to match and bring her home to help cure the loneliness afflicting me by virtue of missing home and needing a real naija woman jare.

  • Thanks onty. I don't know if at a professional level, but, in a way, you're a psychologist?!..I think I'll start working towards that.

  • i dont care what the hip hop music does to my culture the source of joy is still in our root music.

    bameyi

  • I,hereby in a loud voice, nominate this work for the very next and subsequent music/artist prize awards.ALL CONCERNED BODIES TO, PLEASE, TAKE NOTE FOR THE APPROPRIATE ACTION..THANKS.

  • I hope I'll get access to the whole album..I've asked my sister to send it to me.

There are two particular points that turns me off most in the video clips as per Florence demonstration..this is personal anyway, but I believe many people will share the same taste concerning the two points..( ask me..!)

    Anyway,bye for now..and enjoy!

    Dr.K.

    tel:00249924471234

  • what turns you off?

  • Thanks for asking Onty23 and Naijanawa..but you know what? I had to say that because I don't like the way I feel each I pass through those points...The first point is at arround 02mins:22secs when she claps hands singing " werengatoo wele blanu noo"..the demo there perfectly matches the mood that associated with that part of the lyrics...however,the way she positioned her lips while saying "wele blanu noo" is what turns me ON ! ( did I say Off ?, yes,I meant )And may be I should sue her or ...

  • yea i wanna know too

  • I think Florence (as somebody identified her below) has a naturally alluring honeylike voice..Ican't imagine how much honey she consumes daily to have developed such a sweet voice!!!..I love you Florence..keep it up! You're a star!

The rest of the crew(?)didn't perform less good..they all have wonderful voices too..the treble, the bass, the...what have you..well blended and mixed up!

And my final Kudos to Ogidi Omo....Tade Ogidan, the professional touch is all glaring in the tract.

  • pls can someone help me? iam addicted to this beautiful song

  • The language is Eegun, pronounced with a grave grave grave intonation, and not to be confused with "eegun", the Yoruba word for masquerade. It's spoken anywhere from badagry to Benin Republic. They make very fine music too!

  • its sound so close to my parents language, yoruba

  • Yeah, they speak it in Lagos too, Yaba, Makoko and virtually all the Lagos lagoon areas. And there are branches in Ogun State too.

  • im a yoruba girl too its so close to my language too

  • you are right. it is spoken by badagry people, ado-odo people (between lagos and ogun state) the Eegun of Beninnoise is slightly different. that is why you will hear people say Eegun Ajase. I do understand both Eegun cause my mother is originally from Benin but her family migrated to Badagry. The culture is lovely.

  • I love this song. It's very uplifting and very relaxing. I really love the singer as well. She is well composed.

  • a lil confused here.. i thought it (the language) was like the Tiv language, or where those zulezoo guys are from, the guys that sang kerewa. pls verify if anyone knows....thnxx

  • the language is Eegun, spoken by Beninoise people,Ado-odo and Badagry

  • i love all musie

  • what's her name someone pls help me,i love dis girl

  • Ah! If it's a language, then how can it be under Yoruba, another language. I am Yoruba, but I can't make out anything from the songs except by reading the translation. So it has to be a distinct language. Great job they have done here. I keep watching it. The dancing is great!

  • the language is egun an important tribe from lagos state, nigeria.the song is highly emotional.we shall allsee our homes.i mean our fatherland.somebody say amen.

  • AMEN

  • it is egun language from cotonu portnovo

  • Rhanks for the clarification I though tit was agun too but isn't that another country entirely from Naija?

  • i really luv dis song...its so nice...but i want 2 no d language which waz sang...and d guyz is cute too...

  • i think it's egun, which is under yoruba like most of them have said. am yoruba, i dont understand the language but am just too inlove wiv this song

  • Even without the translation, I love this song. The voice of lead singer sounds so sweet, so traditional, makes you proud of your culture.

  • I really love this song

  • the guy dancing is really cute.most especially in d movie madam dearest

  • it is egun it under yoruba too and sounds like it. nice song

  • I think the language is from Benue State (Tiv Tribe) but please correct me if I'm wrong.
