  • these are not terscheckii..they're peruvianus...

  • @ghostdog7575

According to all that I have read you are wrong.

The peruvianus has short spines and is a dark greenish/blue colour.

Got any links that I can read?

  • @motagota2 the descriptions you've read are misleading... while it's true that sometimes peruvianus has a bluish color it is often yellowish. Terscheckii has a lot more ribs and they are narrower. Peruvianus is similar to pachanoi with longer and tougher spines. it has 5 to 8 ribs. The spines of terscheckii are more but they are smaller. If you google trichocereus terscheckii and see the image result you'll see... plus one of the images shows cacti identical to yours and are "peruvianus"

  • @motagota2 this is a tipical terscheckii:

    delange(dot)org/CardonGrande/CardonGrande(dot)HTM

and this are tipical peruvianus cuttings:

    salvialight(dot)com/peruvianus(dot)htm

which one does match yours IYO?

p.s.: i worked for years in a cacti greenhouse and I'm 100% shure. plus: peruvianus is very good (actually better than pachanoi) while terscheckii (cardon grande) has nasty side effects. The best and most powerful is bridgesii (bolivian four ribbed san pedro)

  • cutting on the angle stops water from staying on the top and causing rot. you can cut it flat if you want or just bevel the edges.

Yes you don't need a top or a bottom :D

any piece with 5 or more rows of spines will grow. just plant it. you will get little ones growing from the top of it in no time.. soon I will post a new video of how things are growing this year I have heaps growing like this :D.

  • if your cutting does not have a top will it still grow. please answer!!!

  • do u have to cut on a angle

  • Use some ashes to cure the cuts when fresh, it safes some weeks of waiting

  • the bugs that eat it must be having some fun :D

  • Eat it. Trip.

  • Toobad bugs like eating your cacti

  • awesome cacti
