Wright is generalizing. It might be true in terms of African culture, but black people are not stuck thinking only one way. They are human beings who are as capable as any other human beings of adapting themselves.
This was good until Dr. Wright's part was cut off and the first words out of this radio guy's mouth was a lie. Dr. Wright has multiple advanced degrees and would never consider someone "suspect" because the had a degree. Any person with even marginal cognitive abilities would know that Michael Savage is a liar and worse.

When I was a little boy, my Vietnam Combat Veteran of a good father instilled upon me the virtue of 'cowboying the fuck up' when I had a problem understanding or learning a certain obstacle.
The old man was right. Adversity requires discipline, adaptation and domination. That is a function of the will of a man. White or black doesn't matter.
My father taught me that there are never excuses. Only obstacles that can be easily overcome. He was right and this fake preacher is wrong.
One quote that Savage failed to highlight from Wright's speech is that "different does not mean deficient." Wright didn't say that blacks could not get degrees. Wright didn't say that black kids were not equal to white kids. In fact, the whole point of his speech was just because some cultures learn differently doesn't mean they are better or worse than others; it simply means they learn differently, and schools should recognize different styles of learning if they expect to reach ALL children.

Hmm. this is odd, because I'm a mathematician and I'm black. My professors in college were mostly black, and were as articulate as any other professor. Stop the stereotypes; reinforcing stereotypes was not the focus of Wright's speech to the NAACP.
Go to Obama's Church's website, under "Pastoral Staff", and then click on the link for "Talking Points". You'll see a clear statement that the church was inspired by the founder of Black Liberation Theology, Dr. James Cone, a personal friend of Reverend Wright.
Cone says, in his books, among many other things, that whites are "the devil", "depraved", and that all Gods who love white people should be "murdered"--whatever the hell that means.
if you had family members lynched simply because you were of a certain color, you would probably think that the race of people who did the lynching were depraved and devilish. times, and people change. so i'm guessing obama should be held accountable for someone's words in a book. let obama be accountable to his own words.

Hamas hates american politics but they endorse him. Same with black panthers and NOI. These are groups that hate this country why are they all hyped up for obama? Same exact thing. Are we discussing James Cone or Jeremiah Wright. Inspired by does not mean you followed exactly. Slavery in the Americas was inspired by the Bible, that doesn't mean they followed the Bible. Stop being politically correct and admit that Rev. Wright was 100% correct in his preaching.
It clearly says the church follows the teachings of James Cone. Cone and Wright are best friends. Wright and Cone are correct ONLY IF you're a savage.
But between the two men (Wright and Savage) who are both guilty of over-generalizing, Savage is worse. He just sounds like an ignoramus.
