  • oh man, when she commandeerd the shuttle, I just Laughed and laughed, and laughed

  • fantastic work, the first time I've seen this quality animation with the software you use. How long did it take to do Part 1?

  • @crammasters Thanks! I can't remember exactly, but overall I averaged about one part (about 10 minutes) per year.

  • Very well done story and cinematography...

  • Wow.. this is spectacular. How many people total worked on this project?

  • @MADGU3RRILLA Thanks! Not counting the voice work and music: one.

  • I'm just so happy you made Trek "sexy", thank you.

  • yes yes yes, as an old trekky keep these coming this brings me back. you do great work and have a great voice acting group. I salute you and your work sir.

  • Ahem, Each ship during the original Star Trek series had a different insignia, many of them are displayed in the Star Trek Technical Manual. I think a lot of work was done, I think it was well done. I also like and had an interest in doing something like this with either a Freighter or a Tug. Keep up the good work, and I look forward to parts 5 and forward for your series or this saga.

  • This is great well worth the delay i keep checking back for pt5 i cant wait to see it.

  • All I can really say is "Wow!" I've been a Trek fan since TOS ran in prime time. This is great! I've been a gamer (pen and paper RPGs) for about 30 years and one of my favorite settings to run has always been the "Trader Captains and Merchant Princes" from FASA. This captures so very well the atmosphere that I've striven for in every game (and sometimes achieved). Thank you so very much for your efforts! Please keep up the excellent work.

  • Thanks, Tannius! Aurora is pretty much all I've done, aside from a few test works that I haven't posted. Aurora keeps me busy enough! ;-)

  • Truly awesome. Your animation seems to get a little smoother each part I noticed. Is this your first animation attempts or have you done other things you have posted?

  • Unfortunately a little bit of a delay, PatrickXFCE--I'm working on the last scene now, but it will take me a bit past September 23 (end of summer). Definitely fall 2011.

  • @Auroratrek roger that, Thanx, Auroratrek! Good Story and amazing work btw!

  • Hey gang; is there a delay on Part 5? Its September and I haven't seen it yet.

  • This story gets really interesting. More please :)

  • Best work yet on the animation in this installment! Inspired, and yes a bit envious.

  • Thanks, Trektoons! That isn't the Enterprise insignia, however--note that it is a triangle with truncated points (what I call the "Yorktown Tricorn" after the revolutionary-era hat) rather than the Enterprise arrowhead/swoosh. The interior symbols are the same, however. Part 5 should be out Summer 2011.

  • @Auroratrek Strange, when I first saw this over a year ago, the Enterprise badge was on the Yorktown uniforms. Two of us saw them at the same time. But again, a minor issue.

  • @kurtb8474 Okay, that explains it: my first upload of Part 4 had the Enterprise badge, but I changed it after it became an issue, so you may have seen that earlier version--in fact, right now there are older versions of various parts of Aurora on the internet where people downloaded them from my site and re-uploaded them elsewhere without permission--while I appreciate their enthusiasm, it's a drag, since I can't update them. That's why I added "Official Site" to the ones I've uploaded myself.

  • This is great work! I just wish they would have not used the Enterprise insignia on the Yorktown uniforms. A minor issue, however. Can't wait to see how it ends! :)

  • this is a great series, and i am enjoying the way your characters are acted out.

  • Great stuff. Really enjoying it. Gave it a shout out on my xmenfanfilms facebook page. I'd love to see some behind the scenes stuff or a commentary episode at some point.

I know you listed both DAZ and Poser in the Tags. The characters are Poser, though, right? Did you use Mimic for the lip sync?

  • @TheGreatIndependent Thanks! They're Daz characters, animations composed in Poser, lip sync in Mimic, rendered in C4D. You can see a more detailed workflow description on my Auroratrek web site.

  • BLOODY BRILLIANT!

  • I found out that the conclusion is coming in spring of 2011. It is on their site:

    auroratrek . com (slash) episodes (dot) h t m l

  • I hate cliff-hangers! ;) When will the rest of this great story be finished? This is truly outstanding!

  • More please! :)

  • Very nicey done!! When can we expect part 5?

  • Terrific, well done!

  • Great work! Both story and animation seems to be getting better each episode! Beautiful shots of both the exterior and interior of the Yorktown. I also love the small detail you give to hand gestures and body movement.
