Of the four UW Sports I went to see while a student there (Football, Basketball, Hockey and Volleyball), football is leagues behind the other three in terms of atmosphere.

The band rarely gets to play (they pump in over 2/3 of the music you hear in Camp Randal... hence Jump Around), and the fans are rowdy but could really care less about the game.

UW Hockey is where its at. Which is impressive considering that the Kohl Center is designed poorly for hockey.

Stormed the field in '03 after the OSU game. Been to every one since.

But the difference between a night game and the day games is merely the rowdiness level. I don't deny that UW football crowds are rowdy (and they are fun in the same way that a party is fun), but when people get more excited for the music on the PA than they do for the game itself, something's gone seriously wrong.

I say Hockey is best at UW because the Crease Creatures cheer loud and hard, no matter what. No so at CampR.
