I ask people to comment at the end of my videos, because that's the thing I value most about YouTube. If I get comments from the same 10 or so people who I know like my videos and consistently give me good feedback, I'm happy.

It's vloggers I hate more than whores. I mean, I hate getting a message from fucking iShatOnU every 2 weeks saying something or other about "checking out my videos and maybe subscribing to me too?". However I very rarely get them nowadays, but I once used to get them every day. I remember I was once on holiday in Gibraltar for a few weeks, when I returned I had 74 personal messages, and I think about 65 of them were copy and pasted.
In my opinion, a subscriber whore is someone who uses naked(ish) thumbnails and video content to hook scores of perverted, creepy or just plain sexually frustrated viewers. I don't really mind a lot of the other stuff, as you said it's an inherent flaw that pretty much cannot be helped. But the nakedness attracts a certain kind of viewer that I cannot stand, the 'u iz so cute pwease go out wiv me, omg I luv ur hair' kind of viewer. Gah. I hate that viewer.
What I thought was really douchey was when I had subscribed to someone, & they then sent me PM about thier stuff as if I hadn't subscribed. Very very silly.
