Longboarding is skateboarding. Both consist of riding a plank of wood with trucks and wheels. I do both "trick boarding" and longboarding. Both were created so that people can have fun. if u like doin little kickflip to grinds then thats ok. but don't put us down if we like to bomb a hill goin 40 mph rather than technical tricks. remember, we're both on a plank of wood with trucks an wheels.

I cracked 2 charlys this year. Saved my life. But those fuckers arent durable for shit. Protech soft foam is way more protection and thats not even dot certified.

Icaro i heard has protection... but theres no real protection in downhill skating.

@totemo92 that do you mean there is no real protection? i'm pretty sure wearing a preasure suit, kneepads, elbow pads, gloves, and or any other padding/ gear will very greatly lessin the chances for injury when you fall racing or freeriding dh.

obviously nothing will keep you completely safe at high speeds, but the use of such equiptment has saved my ass from injury from a lot of sticky situations whether it been kissing pavement or guard rail

Let me guess, you're one of those little double-kick fanboys that thinks he's badass because he can land a trick that nobody can see but everyone can do about one of ten times? You see, longboarding is in my eye the purest form of skateboarding, considering the freedom to ride pretty much anywhere, and how you can JUST ride if you want.

The hardware is of higher quality, the trucks are designed not only to hold the wheels (like most technical flip-trick deck trucks are, considering most skateboarders tighten them to the point that they are rock solid and serve no purpose except beign an axel) but also to turn - the ENTIRE reason trucks are designed like they are. Also, the wheels are big and soft so they aren't stopped by tiny things such as stray quarks for example.

There's the thing. We don't longboard for the purpose of looking cool. We skate for the stoke, not the crowd. We do it because it's fun, not because we want to be something we are not. Anyway, you can say you like to skateboard, but there isn't much point in telling us that longboarding is for fags seeing as how it's quite simply just another form of skateboarding.

@FreebordRoofy Dude this road is way hard to skate on in any conditions. Even for pros. I ripped this up with a bunch of folks last weekend for the outlaw. And even they had a hard time but it was raining. I crashed once too. This isnt really the road you want to hold a camera on the whole time ur going down. I session here once a month.

I've got a loaded vanguard and a landyachtz evo. The vanguard can be fun, but for hills and corners the evo just can't be beat. It rolls like a tank, and is $60 cheaper than the loaded boards.
