For the 1960s-early 90s, you can do a playlist of video clips in order through "Billboard chart sweep 1960" and so on. See the sudden surge of color around 1966, disco taking over around 1975, music videos during the early '80s, and the urban beat in the early '90s. Even in early 1960, there were still some sources describing that there were "hectic changes", though they paled in comparison to the changes the '60s brought.
