Whats the problem with steroid use in sport? Steroids are used in most sports, cortisone injections are given to reduce inflammation in tennis, baseball and golf yet anabolic steroids are considered cheating? Whats the difference? Both are steroids and both give an advantage in competitive sport. American media has ingrained the notion that "steroids are for cheaters" but who is the real cheat? The baseball pitcher getting a cortisone shot in his elbow or the batter on testosterone?

The fact is, no matter how much cortisone you take, it will not make you better than you are at an injury free level, steroids are quite the opposite. You steroid users are all the same. @pkbratking You already answered yourself - cortisone shots are used to reduce inflammation, anabolic steroids are used to build muscle. Cortisone are corticosteroids as opposed to anabolic steroids. Corticosteroids are used in many autoimmune diseases such as Crohn's disease, anabolic steroids are not.
