  • Shamisen Hero!

  • sounding good is a matter of opinion. the debate below is therefore pointless.

  • Is this the shamisen made by Benya? if so, do you know where I could get info about it, because I can't find anything about the company or this particular instrument. Great playing by the way!

  • thats not amazing.thats just lick 10 loops with tooo many effecks. im mean that instrument is made to play slowly.

  • @TR1V05 Uhh... Shamisen made to play slowly? Wow, what century are you living in? there are old (slow) styles of Shamisen associated with the geisha or kabuki but for about the past 100 years Shamisen has been a shredding instrument.

Tsugaru style is often compared to speedy bluegrass banjo. All modern young players play very fast and energetic. That`s today`s standard so you seem to be about one century off in your cultural analysis.

  • @shamikami maybe, but show me one vid. where scredding on a Shamisen sounds good.

  • @TR1V05 watch?v=UDgKqpbyrlk&feature=grec_index here, i think this is an excellent example.

  • Did you install a pickup in your Shamisen or did you buy it with a pickup?

  • You and this instrument are going places!! Great job.

  • woo, this is so unlike anything shamisen has ever done.

  • that is soo kool ..is it posible to buy one of those somewhere? or did u make it?

  • cool!

  • awesome! Kevin, you are amazing!

What loop sampler did you put that through?

  • hey shamisenhero! I was using line 6 (the delay/loop station). might be an older model(it`s green) I`ve has it since like 2003.
