  • Nostalgic!!!!!!!

  • What a bitch.

  • Now that's a real commercial I think it was dry paper when he put his cup on it

  • she has such a deep voice @_@

  • its funny how straight to the point no bullshit these adverts were now its all fake and computerized crap

  • Ida Morgenstern Forever!!!!!!

  • old lady is hawt!

  • Calm down y'all, oo dang.

  • Wow. So many people up in arms about a commercial that was made in 1971.... a time where it was very common to have male v. female roles in society and people made jokes like that all the time.

Talk about people needing to get lives...

    Frankly, I miss these commercials.

Put things into perspective before you complain about something. 1971 v. 2010... Hmmm.... there's a difference between these eras?....... Well, DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Is the young bride Kathryn Leigh Scott of "Dark Shadows" fame? It sure looks like her!

  • I don't think so.

  • I remember these commercials. god bless Nany Walker!

  • "I have a knack for spilling" (looks guiltily at his wife)

Too bad there was no "Loveline" in 1971.

  • Nancy Walker acted as Estelle's (Sophia's) sister on Golden Girls! :)

  • not a bad looking groom

  • "you really have no frame of reference"? OMG you're not a feminist, you're that typical American that thinks we all live in ikloo's LOL!! Anybody can go around calling every issue stupid and not worth debating but that would make you a typical Canadian [ apathetic ] . Congrats, you're a typical stupid American and a typical apathetic Canadian.

  • I do believe my origional comment mentioned something about a throw away society, funny how you were selective in your response towards the point about gender.

  • Insulting us, does not win you a debate, so maybe its you that should go back to debating101. Insults during a debate are made to harm the character of the debater, therefore making the opposition appear wrong by folly. Epic fail sue. How typical of a "feminist",to try and make men look "bizarre", or sick(YUK) when they have a valid point that shows the harmful stereotypes made by corporate advertisements. There was nothing wrong with my origional post,it merely stated a fact. So why so serious?

  • Suesnell, I guess being biased, is ok for debating where you come from, but here its considered the end of debate due to your ideas being tainted and blinded by your emotion. YUK indeed.

  • If my comment was so petty, you sure felt the desire to attack it. So calling you a feminist was not so much name calling, yet rather an acknowledgement to the truth, therefore making your opinion, BIASED. Again, why else would you have attacked my comment? I also noticed how you divide by political borders, how very patrioticly indoctrinated of you. Keep thinking in a box. Funny, you call others bizarre, yet failed to notice that you attacked my comment which was months old. Get a life.

  • "a sitcom"? You mean Doug and Carrie? I'm talking about advertising Sue, where a company pays to put an advertisement. I can give you tonnes of examples. Let's watch tv for a month and make comparisons . You'll lose. I actually watch tv.

  • Ya it's not a big deal but you didn't answer my question. The answer is a definite "NO". Women don't get shafted like this in commercials "ever", just doesn't happen. You know what's really stupid? the fact that we can portray men like this in advertising but not women.

  • Let me ask you an honest question Sue. Do you think there's any company stupid enough to put out a commercial where a man asks another man why his wife [ it ] isn't housebroken yet ?

  • If the shoe fits...

  • The nature of your comment was obvious, so just who are you trying to fool? Again what prompted you to attack my comment? I rest my case.

  • I suggested the "shoe on the other foot" to point out, an inequality in society. I know its hard for your pro feminist world to understand, but men suffer aswell from false social stereotypes, and I was merely pointing out how it compared to the latest bounty comercial. I say humans are victimized equally. The man and the woman do seem dumb, that we can agree upon.

Again you may want to question why you attacked my comment, because your Feminist EGO felt it had something to defend: )

  • The commercial is showing a women against men attitude. It was made to program the masses to divide by gender, creating thinkers like yourself who then think in gender division. Why do you think you attacked my comment.

Yes I watch T.V. and if this commercial showed the women as a piece of meat, I would of pointed it out, the fact that you believe the young lady is a bimbo is debatable. Thier in the honeymoon phase, and good looking couples do exist. Nancy is an out dated feminist.

  • Get over yourself, LOB. They don't even run this commercial anymore - time travel to the present already!

  • Oh quit attacking me for no good reason. I was merely pointing out the problems with comercials like this one and notice how my origional comment started with saying "it was much like the latest comercial". Get off your fat ego and read my response correctly: )

  • This bounty commercial is very similar to the newest bounty commercial. They make men look stupid, and no one ever thought to use a cloth, or the fact that they are gladly being a throw away society. I wonder how women would react if the tables were turned and it was a man that was treating her like the dog that was not house broken. Stupid society.

  • Yeah if it was the other way around, this of course would have received a load of complaints. That is one thing that annoys me, some people have got to learn you shouldn't care what's in the media, you are the person you are. If there were a bunch of adverts on that portrayed men as stupid I couldn't care less, I'm not stupid and so it doesn't bother me at all. Stupid people complaining as usual...

  • I am not stupid either, yet it sends out the wrong message to the youthful droning audience that is soaking it up with out question or concience. I rather see my self as expressing a more conciencious view rather than complaining as you have put it.

  • No! Sorry, i wasn't calling you stupid at all. The point you raised was intelligent and well said. I was calling the people who complain about adverts stupid when they complain basically for the sake of it. No, i agree with what you say, it does send out the wrong message. What really annoys me is the fact people can't seem to think for themselves and get their ideas and things from tv, this leads to sexism and other negative things like that.

    Sorry for the misunderstanding. :)

  • Sorry about that, I misinterpreted the last part of your comment.

  • i tried putting it on a wet piece of paper and i spilled coffee and got grounded

  • Ha, that's funny. Well, now it is. Probably wasn't back then.

  • Nancy was fabulous. This is what is great about YouTube. She popped in my head out of the blue today, adn poof here she is on YouTube!

  • Oh yes, my new husband and I always take our groceries to the diner to have long talks about paper towels. Don't you? I love the 70's.

  • I agree with Nancy. Bounty works

  • I love these old Bounty commercials, even though I was born in '85!

  • i hate to ask this question but is nancy walker still alive?

  • No. She died in 1992, age 69.

  • So, she's only 48 here???

  • @NoSpector Nancy Walker was born in 1922, so she would have only been 48 in '71...

  • Ida Morgenstern is awesome.

  • She was great as Rhoda's mother.

  • Do you think it's been long enough that they could introduce a new Rosie without a huge backlash from those of us old enough to remember Nancy?

  • I don't think so! The lines were okay in themselves on paper but Nancy's delivery and inflections made them shine and I doubt anyone else could do the role justice!

  • There's only one Nancy Walker!

  • I so agree with you on that one! She was one of a kind. Rosie; Ida Morgenstern; Emily Turner; Mildred; Nancy Blansky, she was one of the best character actresses of all time.

  • I agree, no one else could do the roll (of Bounty) justice.
