Ready 4 battle, they strap their helmets on, lock and load, ready in seconds, off they go. Thanks my brothers and sisters I say, true Patriots, not Tom Brady, no way. Thanks for protecting our freedom everyday!! Stars and Bars the greatest country I say. Proud to be American, Marines all day, they will never bend or back away. Ferocious in battle Semper Fi they say! God Bless our military, be safe ok. Come home safely, I kneel & pray. God Bless our soldiers OOO Rah USMC way God bless the USA!
not enough inspirational commercial or motivational propaganda on tv could instill eternal pride and accomplishment in your heart. I dare you to bravely sign that dotted line and stand proud on that yellow foots prints. Come out victorious and only then, you may live forever as one of the few and the proud.
I don't see a difference. Why do people expect to see a difference? There heroes? EVERY Veteran and Marine is a hero!!! There the workers and builders for God's kingdom we call America! God Bless you all!
@XXRANGERSXX75th that's not the Honor Guard, that's the Marine Corps' Silent Drill Team... and they're in commercials because they visually symbolize a lot of the ideals of the Corps.
The trousers are blue they just look black on the screen.General officers wear black trousers with a wider blood stripe.I think black on black for everyone would look pretty sharp.
This is the one that hooked my ass during the summer of 81.Saw it twice told my father that I was going to join the Corps.Put my little feet on the yellow footprints June 14,82.Infantry School Camp Pendleton,Marine Barracks Bangor WA,Alpha 1/3 Kamehoe HI,Okinawa and Subic Bay,Then Alpha 4TH Recon USMCR while attending university. Not a bad few yrs.
@darkgreen0311 Me too! I DEP'd in 81 after seeing that commercial! Plt 3059, Mike Company! 2531 sent to 3rd Recon K-Bay, BRC 0321 secondary MOS, wings and a bubble. Retired 2003
Anyone know where I can find the video of the blacksmith hammering iron, then it transforms into an officer's sword as he's doing sword manual??? It came out about same time this commercial did - early 80's.

The Drill sequence seemed different back then because the Marines dont use verbal command in today's Silent Drill

It first played during Super Bowl XX. The Marine on the commercial was Lt. Kean.....he was 8th & I in the early 80's.

Weren't they still saying 'We're Looking For A Few Good Men' in '81? Think "The Few. The Proud' was a little later. Not positive, tho...

I gleaned this from an old football video from the 1981 season. From a broadcast on September 12, '81 to be exact.
