  • Marty, I've started watching your videos 6 months ago and I can say that when I go out and play guitar with my friends, some of them ask me how long do I play, and I say "about 6 months" and they don't believe me, they think it's much more. Thanks to power of Internet and especially YOU I'm getting better every day. I'm really amazed of how lessons are fun, educative and supercool to watch even if you're not interested in playing guitar. Thanks man again, really appreciating this! Peace

  • pause it at 0:03

  • @dimebagjames1 hahaha his face

  • hi marty:D i wonder what gauge your strings are

  • cool. but i find it a little confusing cause most musicians think of the 3 or the 5 or the 7 as the 3 or 5 of the SCALE and not the frets.

  • love the lesson, but am kindof curious. can someone explain why using the Gmajor chord works well with the Gminor blues scale? i mean it sounds amazing, but i dont really understand the theory for mixing minor and major chords/scales i guess.

  • my muma does not run away any more she likes my music my buddy marty teaches me

  • thanks so much for all your videos really appreciate it. your a great teacher

  • I love how you blues guys all wear those hats :D haha

  • Five orange stars!!! For being kickass!

  • yes Its great!!!

Your face looks funny, when you are playing :D

  • Marty, thank you so much! You are the greatest!

Quick question: It looks like the G blues scale you are using here in the key of G is a G minor blues scale, but in your Country and Folk Style Lead Guitar Lesson, you used an E minor (G major?) blues scale in the key of G. Which one is correct? Or how do you decide when to use which scale in the key of G? What's the difference?

  • steel strings?

  • Great bluesface in the intro!

    Greetz from germany

  • i wish you were my teacher.... -paola

  • this video is sweeeeeeeeeeeeet.

  • does he use stell strings?

  • Amazing lesson, but I'm not seeing how this is fitting in the G blues scale for the most part

  • I was like "Dude this is awesome" Then I saw 5:20 and my face melted.

  • guitar jamz doctor,

    thanx good teacher

  • Hey Marty, so if your using the G blues scale, where does the blues run start? I realize its a whole step before, but does that still apply using the key of G, and can you still use the "open chords" with all of these concepts too?

    Thanks

    Anthony

    Thanks

    Anthony

  • My prayer answered. I've just finished disc 6 of the Easy Songs have dvd's 7-9 to go and then hopefully you'll have released the acoustic blues set by then. I can't even begin to thank you for how much my playing has improved with your lessons. My dog, Auggie, no longer leaves the room when I play, he lays on my feet and settles in.

To anyone just getting started out there, you are lucky to have found this guy at the start of your journey.

  • Thanks mate!

  • Marty wht gauge of strings and what type(bronze phosphorbronze) do you use ?:D

  • Hey I would like to know(If anyone can help me with this)I am confused on the fact lets say I play the basic blues scale pattern when soloing do I have to stay in the pattern or can I move around as long as I hit the notes in the pattern?
