  • is laotian similar to vietnamese or thai? if so do they understand each other like swedes and danes?

  • Does von have a page ? I would really like to work on my laotion

  • Just say I am tire. (koi. Muy lay chao moy lay.I think chao moi lay

  • You can't eat water no such thing. I know a lot of Lao say it but it's not correct

  • It's Lao not Laotian.Koi(me, I), Koi(dick), na hac(cute)(flat face), huang(sing)(yell). What stupid fucking Lao came up with one word that means two complete opposite different things.I understand it's tonal but koi could have meant I and happy or something not I and dick.

  • Laotian is actually a rich language. It's just that Vone was born in the U.S. and she apparently does not know the full Laotian language. The word for drink is "deum", whereas eat is "gin". Good morning is "sabai dee torn sao". "Sabai" means comfortable and "dee" means good. "Torn sao" means in the morning.

In addition, you two are pronouncing Laotian incorrectly. It should be pronounced with just two syllables, not three. It should be "Lao"-tian.

Anyway, you two seem like good friends.

  • Sometimes i swear Indonesian's sound like Filipinos when they speak English

  • Lao 101 all done!!

  • Wow two hotties

  • My mother is Thai/Laos and my father is Indonesian/Japanese! :D

  • @Demonic5376 I'm sure your mother isn't half Laos. She can't physically be a country. Laos is a country. Laotian is the people. The correct way is to say your mother is half Thai/Laotian, not Thai/Laos. You wouldn't want to say your mother is half Thailand/Laos. She is not a country or half of two countries. =)

  • I have been interested in language videos, and trying to learn different languages but I am checking out a lot of different ones at the same time, which means I have actually learned none...lol. I should stick with one, but I don't. It just seems to me that tonal languages are more difficult, because the same word can have several different meanings, with very subtle changes. That's just my opinion.

  • @MrMax89 hahahahaha that happens... yeah i don't like tonal language too.. so hard!

  • @MrMax89 Thank goodness for context clues! :)

  • @MrMax89 You should try to learn. Tonal languages are fun to speak. It's like learning how to sing.
