    That's an Auxilary Power Unit. It powers and heats the coache. It was made using an Old FP7B shell though.

  • @clusterfak it is an APU Auxiliary Power Unit or EGU Electric Generator Uni

    they're basically the same term, either one term is used, the APU provides the HEPHead End Power to the passenger cars.

    an SGU Steam Generator Unit hasn't been used iin Canada since 1994by VIA Rail Canada
