I'm just trying to say if you look at a lot of his recent videos you'll find there are long stretches (30-40 seconds) where he's just playing the same chords over and over again his left hand and repeating 8th notes in his right.

Obviously it's not just me who's noticed, since his views have dramatically fallen from when he first started. He used to get 1 million viewers per video easy. Now he can barely break 1 million. I'm not trying to bash him - he's an amazing talent. But if you compare his older videos (Buddy, buy you a drink, like a boy) to his new videos, it's plain to see he's choosing popular songs to lure viewers rather than the beauty and arrangement of his performances in songs he's truly passionate about.

Maybe you're not appreciating the genious that's being shown to you. It's not that he has to be perfect, this guy simply listens to a song and is able to replicate it, melody and lyrics, and play it on the piano. He simply plays by ear.
