As far as I know the energy (coming from your alternator) for separating two H20 molecules into two molecules of H2 + one molecule of O is exactly the same amount we get back for the combustion of those 3 molecules then:
When the hydrogen and oxygen is combusted, it turns back into water. With the heat from the combustion from the diesel, the water heats up and turns into steam and the cylinder become more pressurised which gives the engine more power without using any more fuel. Also, because the heat is being used by the water for pressure, it doesn't get lost as much through the exhaust or cylinder walls. The pressure also spools up the turbo quicker so volumetric efficiency is increased further.
The detonation of O2 and H2 produces a vapor of water, not liquid.
Even worse when u say that converting water into steam "gives power" when is the other way around; in order to produce steam you have to "supply energy" as in a boiler.
bottom line; it seems you do not know this topic well.
No, the heat doesn't need to come from a boiler, it comes from the combustion in the cylinders when the diesel fires out of the injectors under compression and burns. Similar effect to water injection used mostly in motor sport. 80s turbo F1 cars, rally cars and dragsters. And if you think I dont know this subject well, well I am studying motor sport engineering and got distinctions in both engine principals and fuel injection to name a couple. So think again before you try and insult somebody.
When hydrogen and oxygen combust it does create water, that is fact.
I didn't say converting liquid into steam 'creates' energy. I said when water is heated up it creates more pressure as the steam expands.
Also, it is insulting as you have assumed that I am an idiot on this topic. I have done my revision on this subject. I don't think the "hydrogen" side to these cells are doing what they claim, but water injected into the cylinders does create an efficiency increase.
2) You say things without knowing and at the same time denying the implicancies of your sayings.
3) I sustain you do not know enough physics for this conversation.
4) Look for "Fuel boost device does not work" on-line article from the BBC and see their findings.
5) Do not give up studying engineering if you want to know whats really going on with these matters. A course on "Motor Sport Engineering" is not enough...
Look, for the final time, I am not saying that these hydrogen fuel cells work, I am saying that adding water into an engines cylinder does improve efficiency. Water injection has been around for a long time. F1 teams used it in the 80s, rally cars use it, dragsters use it. Infact, Saab used to offer a kit on their 900 turbos. I am not sticking up for these hydrogen boost systems, But I know for a fact that small amounts of water injected into the inlet system works.
Can you read? Clearly you are not understanding me. WATER INJECTION is different to HYDROGEN BOOST SYSTEMS!
I will break it down to some simple science which you might understand.
1) Ignite air and fuel you get heat.
2) Add heat to water and steam is created where it expands
3) The expansion of water in a hot cylinder creates pressure (if you think this theory doesn't work then you clearly have a lot to learn, and you probably think steam trains dont exist either)
If you take heat from the cylinder for generating steam you will also get the pressure of that cylinder LOWERED (basic Thermodynamics) but you say that the generated steams ends up increasing the cylinder pressure water has not internal energy then; why should the phenomena of generating steam on cylinder produce extra pressure/energy?
Water injection might work but you do not know why.
Please do us a favor, be quiet, go to college, and come back let say in 4 years.
No, heat makes water expand, if pressure was lost then when you put the kettle on it would suck in air, but it doesn't. The heat from combustion heats the water and expands it, and water expands a lot quicker than air. That heat is being put to better use then just being transferred through the cylinder walls. Also it reduces combustion temperatures so a leaner air/fuel mixture can be used. This all makes sense, face it, stop being childish and trying to argue against something that works.
Please apply the principles of thermodinamics and energy conservation to your sayings and you will understand you need college. no more answers for you.

where is the advantage of using the device ?????

1) telling you that you do not know is not insulting you.
2) you say that combustion of O2 and H2 produces liquid water and that's wrong.
3) you say that converting liquid water to steam provides energy and that is also wrong
No matter how well you do studying; here you are mistaken.

u say:
"I am not saying that these hydrogen fuel cells work, I am saying that adding water into an engines cylinder does improve efficiency"
Again your logic is inconsistent and highly contradictory.
u say:
"But I know for a fact that small amounts of water injected into the inlet system works"
u know that by word of mouth, u do not have a clue about the reasons supporting that phenomena
Before to broadcast technical opinions is advisable to have some supportive background.

@masotta PART 1) Masotta Is so far partial right, the rest is wrong. I will tell you what no one know (on internet so far ):
- The quantity of HH0 or H2/O you get from the cell is too small to have an effect on the engine,in the way you believe now.
- If you burn h2 and O = water (in form of gas, NOT liquid )
- If you inject in engine water in liquid form it will improve the power output, NOT the engine efficiency in fuel consumption. ... next in part 2
