I hope im not the first to say that JayZ or whoever ruined this song. If I were Otis I would be pissed. Anyways he will always be remembered for his great music and will always hold a place in all of our hearts.

ahhh so amazing!! this song shall be listened an loved throughout the generations when i have kids my kids will grow listening to this as shall their kids. the intensity of this song! no one could not LOVE this ...it bring so much energy XD ahhhhh still listening an loving...and unlike the songs they make today you can tell you will never listen to this song an NOT get the same feeling as you did the first time you heard it. THUMBS UP if you feel the same way!
This is the first ever version of this song that I heard. I immediately recognized it to be one of the greatest blues recordings ever. Later, I listened to the studio version by Otis Redding and I couldn't even believe that it was the same song! The studio version is nothing compared to this. The energy! The enthusiasm! The bliss! God, what an experience this song is.
I was there in Finsbury Park,London, singing my heart out but Otis never saw or heard me.....after the show I just floated home.In 1969 I paid a pilgrimage to Stax studios Memphis but Otis never saw me but maybe he did.
Is this the one he did in Europe? I saw this performance on tv one night when i woke up randomly at 4:00 in the morning. By far the best unintentional wake up call i ever received. awesome
Well... let me see now. It was already my all time favorite song in the entire world. I had never heard this version. I'm amazed I have words at all right now, actually. What an incredible band as well!
WOW.....I believe EVERY person interested in singing music professionally should be required to listen to the greats like Mr. Otis Redding.......We were deprived of his magic way too soon.
I was speechless when I first heard him in the sixties and I am still blown away each and every time that I hear him sing. A great loss to us all and to music in particular. He is one of the few greats in R&B and one of the greatest singers ever.
Funny have always loved this song since I saw Pretty in Pink. Why hadnt I heard of him before?? Outstanding voice. People need to stop trying to compete with this version!!
@timmytt3 Today's "rap" and "hip-hop" generation had parents that played this in their house every day. Along with bobby womack, Al Green, Bill Withers, James Brown, Bird, Miles, Muddy, Sam Cooke, Marvin Gaye etc. etc. etc. We were born on soul music. The people that need to hear it ain't us. It's the "rock generation", "the emo kids", the "skinny jean hipster kids", techno and house listeners, and the American Idol lovers. Hip-Hop WAS BORN ON SOUL MUSIC. It's NOT us that need enlightening.
@TheSnowgirl45 have you seen the video of the performance i remember watching it with my dad as a kid, what a mental performance it is, unbelievable, what an entertainer
What a performance! The man was unreal. I don't there will ever be another like him. I think I heard this extended recording with Carla Thomas and Sam Moore joining Otis at the end of the song only once before. I mss Otis so much.
It is sad that so many people know so little about him. He will always be my
Respond to this video... He is awesome!!! Had a time finding a good clip without raunchy comments. I'm 63 and love his music! The music these days doesn't compare to the music of my generation. Love the oldies!
