i am afraid you are thinking of a different thing ( there is a werewolf and theres a wereman ) werewolfs are cursed with a transformation that gives them features of Wolfs. Weremans are wolfs that have a similar feature again they gain features that of a man Transformed you cant tell the difference however untransformed weremans are very very large wolfs. this is wat i gathered from The Forgotten Realms.

Full shift is when I become a wolf. theres something called the point of no return, thats when you shift to much and you get stuck into wolf form forever, i dont think theres any way of coming back hence the name "Point of Return".
