Yeh its nice taking a lot of fans away from home against the big teams isnt it blues remember those days? or for you local games against wolves etc. but you cant get over 18000 against Burnley in the prem. cracking support!
my sincere apologies to you mar mate, it was pompey at home and it was 19,000.... how fucking wrong (and thick) i was to suggest otherwise. i retract my sarcastic comment about 'cracking support', because clearly its the bolocks in your 30,000 seater and one of the biggest cities in the country,
whilst in the championship you struggled for support, some gates were under 13000, yes our support is poor at the minute compared to the last prem season with an average of 27000 but it will soon return now the old board have gone. your gates have always been poor until you got promoted and all the glory boys came. as soon as people figure out a way to stop you booting the ball 70 yards in the air, and parking the bus every game you will struggle and your nice ground will be empty again
yeh mate, just checked and u definitely are talking utter shit. I dont know if we've ever had under 13,000 to be honest mate. u Ever won the top flight? ever won the FA cup? Nah. sorry. Please make up some more statistics for me?
There is still a disregard for Birmingham because of Frys move to Birmingham even to this day. He took most of our team (otto, Bodley, Edwards, Hunt), where at the time we were 3rd at Xmas, and finished midtable, and the same season took Brum down. I'll always wonder what would have happened if he had stayed
Yes I have often wondered whether he would have taken Southend to the Premiership. I remember Fry going back to Roots Hall just prior to Xmas 1993 and Southend turning us over 3-1.
Yeah, i remember that, I was at the game. Although I think it was just into the new year. I remember our keeper smashing a goal kick straight into Peschisolidos arse for your goal
@Savillefish - total crap. otto was shit. hunt was worse. the other two i've never heard of. i tell what would have happened if fry would have stayed - southend would still be a shit small club. your place is with the dagenhams and the crawleys. whereas birmingham are now in europe - all thanks to barry! come on the blues
Amazing that ricky was a legend at Birmingham even though he was there for such a short time, although he wasnt at Southend for much longer, yet even now is still well regarded(despite the fact he followed Judas fry to birmingham)
your right mate. im a red and i was there that night, but couldnt believe the amount you brought with you. you had half the lower centenary stand and the whole annie road end.
How many blues fans were there?? Looks like about 8000, great support!

@stoot69 ...relegated to where you belong now, Brum a strangely small club for a big city (really small crowds like)
