  • someone should upload the 1967 version of this with Dawn Penn singing

  • Dawn Penn's "No No No" used with perfection by the late very great keyboard maestro himself; respect bredda One of Studio One's finest riddims

  • hahaha especilista

  • yaaaaaaa man!

  • Sounds a lot like Dawn Penn's riddim

  • @kaneda1674

It is, this is JM,s instrumental version

  • @OldDubDomain

think this pre-dates it, though, right? DP's tune was released subsequent to 1972

  • @Dolorousness Dawn Penn released "You Don't Love Me" in 1967.

Dawn Penn's version is a cover of Willie Cobbs blues song "You Don't Love Me".

Willie Cobbs used the rhythm from Bo Diddley's tune "She's Fine, She's Mine"

    Hope this helped

    Peace.

  • @OldDubDomain

Thanks for the clarification; it was ahead of it's time, even as a cover of an adaptation, I would say; the mix updates it significantly, of course; regardless, Jackie Mittoo, if not a true pioneer, was a vanguard in the industry and his far-reaching influence is rather egregiously overlooked

    regards
