@LIGHTNINGUZUMAKI It is for sale. You can buy the 3D-printed version from Shapeways or the mass-produced version from Mefferts. Just follow the links in the description.
Just picked one up today in Australia for $20. Whilst it is "mass produced" I have to say it feels very solid, very smooth. Quite impressed with the build quality.
Had me a bit stumped for a while, but I figured it out pretty quickly (it's actually not as hard as you may think). That said, I don't wish to detract from it, it's simply fun to "play with" as well. I'd recommend it for any cuber.
I think this puzzle is not nearly expensive enough. Its price should reflect not only the cost of its design and its production method, but also the great responsibility of properly cautious use that it imposes upon the customer.
I have a question about the gear cube ultimate. on mefferts, it shows the gear cube extreme but it says i can make it an ultimate (which I want to) by completing an interview that I kind find. Do you know how I can make a gear cube ultimate?
I'm sorry but I don't really understand. plus, i don't want to pay $72 for a puzzle. is there any other way to make the extreme an ultimate? does it come with the stickers if i order it?
I didn't get the point. I thought it was going to explode. But that's because my english is bad so the fault is mine. And the cube looks awesome by the way. Well designed.
i agree with hayabuseheadhunters it is a joke, mostly, the gloves i understand because while he ws makiing this, he turned it and got his thumb caught in between the gears there for naming it 'the caution cube' lol
@007speedcuber I suggest that you go to Google and read some articles on 3D printing. Nylon is cheap. Building these custom models via 3D printing is where most of the cost goes.
@OskarPuzzle umm hey dont mind plz bt does any1 actually buy ur puzzles or they are nt sold much ?!? i feel really bad for u coz u made 100 + puzzles bt they dont seem to get sold much .. plz reply i really and genenly feel bad about u :)
@007speedcuber Caution Cube is the original prototype of Gear Cube. If you are a specialist puzzle collector, you may be interested in buying this version. Most people would buy the far cheaper mass-produced version.
zo te horen ben je nederlands, ik denk dat als ik hem bij mefferts koop het best lang kan duren, is er geen snellere manier om hem in nederland te krijgen. woon je mischien in de buurt van gouda?
how many gears does this exactly have? I saw the "even less gears" vid and saw it only have 4 gears. (by the way the even less gears is awsome) I was wondering how many this haves? Im guessing around 14-12
@TheBeardieandtheLeo "Note that the Caution Cube will frequently threaten to eat your fingers. Therefore, Aperture Science is willing to provide you with gloves."
Okay, I probably could've done that joke a whole lot better.
Anyways. I hope the Caution Cube doesn't become the root of any lawsuits anytime soon.
Why are you wearing goggles? I understand the gloves, but eye protection? Does something sharp project from the cube, at some random time, in some random direction?
Hmmm, I think the gloves and eye protection are funny, but overkill. But if it were printed in stainless steel/ bronze with razor-sharp edges, and just removed from the furnace, then the gloves/ eye protection would be justifiable, LOL!
Kudos for you, getting this unique puzzle produced by Mefferts at jadeclub [dot] org
@t0rva Those prices are justifiable by production cost. They are one-of-a-kind, individually 3D-printed pieces of art. If you don't like them, then don't buy them. If you think you find this a good price for a unique puzzle, then please do buy! In any case, please remain kind to the inventor and maker who spends much personal time and money to bring these pieces to the world.
