They do similar training in the Australian Federal Police, one in ten people still remain unaffected by the spray naturally and then you have all the addicts.
i imagine that stuff hurts but to be honest id prefer that to getting shot anyday ... but then again thankfully here in the UK we need worry about neither lest you come accross an irate farmer..

You need to know how to react so you don't freak out when it gets on you. OC hurts and you need to know how to react and what will be coming.

@abass84 i'm not from the states so excuse the question: is this training for your private interest or do you need that in your job? in first case, what is going on in the usa, so that people save 6 months and move to another state to have training on how it is to get pepper-sprayed?
OC training is usually one whole day. It's the same in the military or police sectors. I don't think anyone intentionally wants this training, but in order to understand how to control yourself during an attack with the chemical, or to use it on someone else, you must complete training like this.

This not only gives them a tolerance to work threw it but also to still be able to maintain control the situation. too bad this isn't real training - the pepper sprayer would've either ran away, or would've been able to dodge the officers blows, unlike the padding which just stood there and took it. Secondly, the enemy would not lay on the ground like that if the officer was blind like this guy did. Therefore this exercise was a complete waste of time and nobodly learned any skills.

that was pretty weak for me when i got sparyed in my police academy we got sprayed for 5 seconds fought this huge dude for 3 minutes while peppered sprayed and then had to take him down and cuff him
