  • I'll be honest, I liked the song, just had to dislike to make that top comment from 9 months ago obsolete

  • ...the war is over...i hope for ever...ever

  • @guiducciobeddo Unfortunately for a lot of the guys who were their its not. Nor will it ever you never forget something that intense, kinda like the intensity of finding your first true love but a much different kind of emotion. God Bless the vets.

  • pace

  • The DOORS=JIM MORISON!

  • My favorite Doors song!

  • Great Song! But controversial even today I think. It gets absolutely no airplay.

  • They are marchin from one speaker to the other one :P

  • The genius of morrison, the skills of manzanarek, the talent of kreiger and the always present drumbs of densmore = the doors. An amazing one-of-a-kind band that revolutioned rock

  • I love the Beatles, I love the Doors and for me there is no need of compare them, good music is good music and that's it, when a band gets to the "legend" adjective, any other comparation is useless, they already are legends

  • @delionvanadis Yeah, because The Doors were obviously more talented.

  • Dude, The doors are not as good as Floyd/Zeppelin/Beatles, they are known as the best in my book.

  • @Musique2BeDreamer Amen. People were always comparing them to the beatles, but the beatles didn't have anything like this.

  • the one person is a WarPig !

  • "The Rolling Stones of America"? I think not. Very different sound.

  • @SuperSovietBear Very Different and Better.

  • All your love all our love...all your love is gone...

  • This song is a reminder that governments profit and don't give a damn about those who sacrifice their lives and are willing to do it over and over again. With all of our progress and technilogical advancement, you would think there would be a more humane, efficient, and ethical way to handle political conflicts. And it's kind of obvious why this has been ignored by all governments throughout the world.

  • A downvote? You fool, you foolish fool!

  • The doors es la mejor banda de Blues de la historia

  • 1 person is The Unknown Asshole

  • @GOORVY Very funny - I don't know how anyone can not like this - maybe the head of lockheed martin who's making millions off war.

  • @GOORVY Finally a likable X# person is xxx.

  • bin laden dead YES!

  • I LOVE SONG

  • i think brilliance describes the doors

  • this songs for all those accidental pregnancies

  • the war is over: Tijuana

  • The one person rather wait for the grass to grow than Wait for the Sun.

  • One person dislikes this song? Who let this strange person into our world? No one gets out alive....

  • @landaengr What a silly person!

  • The greatest band to ever exist

  • Took them 130 takes, so enjoy this song!

  • This is the Unknown Soldier not waiting for the sun

  • @naraki1977 I believe the poster is referring to the album this song is on

  • @naraki1977 their album is called waiting for the sun

  • morrison is one of the greatest music people in the history !

  • @CremeDeLaBrem what about Ray, Robby and John - Jim doesn't make that music alone. And fuck yes the Doors are one of the best fucking bands ever, don't want to compare, it's a fact.

  • the doors were the best, morrison was an absolute poet, and honestly, fuck the beatles, theyve got a few songs i do love, but the rest is mass produced pop shite

  • @billtoelke160 Pop music is just a term. There is good pop out there. The term is dragged through the dirt by people's music tastes and certain disingenuous musicians. Beatles rocked, Doors rocked.

Its generic but, labels suck. Now price tags on the other hand are useful and this shit is priceless!

  • @Jiveturkey68 Yeah! The Beatles & Doors are my two fav bands!

  • Sorry, but there is no band like the beatles. I would not compare them to any music ive heard before!

  • The sound at the start is so eerie and dark. It makes me feel like I'm dead and I'm being placed in the ground and dirt is being thrown over me. Like complete isolation and darkness. Like that sound is the echo of life. The last thing I hear. Its hard to explain. It makes me feel like an unknown soldier.

  • The Beatles can seem overrated if you are not listening to the right beatles songs :)

  • @nikesvvoosh hate comparing music. just the worst thing anyone can ever do. people born out of a vagina, we are all different. everyone is different.

  • Doors=2nd greatest band of all time (they lost to the Beatles)

  • @raintalonwindclan

No way. The Beatles are VASTLY overrated.

  • @Dragula1888 There's room for both the Doors and the Beatles, both are great groups!

  • Happy Birthday Robby Krieger!!!

  • The doors kept me cool and mellowed in my earilier days as a kid. Pink Floyd is different though. Jim taught me about Living.

  • It's so interesting how this is so relevant today!

  • Great sound quality!

  • sitting here in my doors t shirt, looking at my doors posters and listen to this song, then jizz!

  • this is they one mantle. the true vision.... the faith...and beauty.---- horror.... you see soon

  • DOORS FTW!!!!!!

  • Both my family and the Morrison family went to the "Dedication of the Unknown Soldier of World War II" on Memorial Day Weekend in May of 1959 when the Morrison's had just arrived in nearby Alexandria. That experience when Jim was 15 has a lot to do with this song. One of the Pall Bearer was Private First Class George B. Turner, who was awarded the Medal of Honor in the same Division my Father served with in World War II. Dan O'Niallain, Grafton, Ma.

  • @oniallain1965 thats rad dude how coincidental

  • @oniallain1965 I just finished a book that took 4 years to writr. I am convinced that Morrison's phrase, "bullet strikes the helmet's head" is taken directly from the assassination of JFK. In his book of poetry he makes reference to the assassin's bullet who kills with "injurious vision." In "Texas Radio and the Big Beat he laments, "I love the friends I have gathered together on this thin raft. We have constructed pyramids in honior of our escaping. This is the land where the pharaoh died."

  • @oniallain1965 Wow What a Great Post. Thank God for them. Did you know Jim and Frank Zappa's wife Gail, went to school together in England?. Children of USN Officers

  • Waiting for the Sun was the first rock n' roll album I ever bought. The Doors were doing something really different for that time. Go Robbie, John, Ray and Jim, and go Elektra Records for giving them a chance even though Jim was such a sloppy drunk, lol, love him!

  • My Father received a Bronze Star during the nightmarish and terrifying 12-Day "Battle of Hatten and Rittershoffen" when he located the remnants of the 1st Battalion of the 315th Infantry Regiment, U.S 79th Infantry Division who had 2 survivors from Company A and a little more from the 2nd Platoon of 56. Dan O'Niallain, Grafton,Ma.

  • The doors cannot be compared to any other band. its a fact they are the best band ever!

    thumb up!!

  • I truly believe that Jim Morrison is alive....Or atleast I hope :D

  • when your strange doc. is awesome!!!

  • unborn living, living dead ,

    bullets strike the helmets head

God i love the Doors . Jim was one passionate poet, especially when he sang.

  • cutting edge and a mind trip!!

  • i think the beatles and dylan upgraded roots music to allow the doors and others to contribute their own own brand of greatnessthe beatles grew each album and dylan was societys mirror...im glad i was able to experience the 60s without being influenced by the critics...great times!

  • lived fast died young

  • @Beatle911 No I know what your saying, I like the Beatles to, just I can't compare em to the Doors. I know people see different comparisons and stuff, but yeah the Doors songs weren't all amazing, most of them though :P

  • @Beatle91 I highly disagree but whatever you have your opinion. You can't say that stuff in hopes of attracting agreement from everyone. The Doors sang about wanting the world, The Beatles sang about yellow sumbarines. Just sayin'.

  • @rhiannoninthesky0 The Doors had good and alright songs while each Beatle song was good, except for a few.

  • The 50s, 60s, and 70s were the days when creative beasts roamed the stages of Europe and America. The Doors, Cream, Rolling Stones, Traffic et al ruled. Even pop music was better Joni Mitchell, Jim Croce Judy Collins and the like. So many various types of music rock, R&B, soul, blues, jazz, electronic, acoustical, folk, asian, african, and classical all added threads to the tapesty. Today's musical is just that...here today...forgotten tomorrow. Who'll be listening to today's

    crap in 45 years?

  • @MusicEqualsMemories i and prolly many more..

no offence, but i like ALL kind of music

  • @punker911a: You are entitled to your opinion as am I. And if you read my comment you'll note my admiration for "rock, R&B, soul, blues, jazz, electronic, acoustical, folk, asian, african, and classical" so I also enjoy many different musical styles.

  • Vote if this is just pure classic !!!!!!!

  • yeah but nobody's going to give a f*ck about a crazy arab and a hated white girl

  • The Doors were rock n roll pioneers just like the Beatles! Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd.

  • music is not supposed to be recycled every once in a while....music is meant to be art in motion that espresses feelings of people and can never be undone....UNLIKE the garbage we are listening to nowdays the doors have accomplished staying in people's souls for a long long time.

  • Main-MAN-MORRiSSon-iS-THe-UnKNoWn SOLDIER

    AWESOME, LOVE it !!!

  • bouta smoke to this song :]

  • no there fuckin better the doors made the best music ever and i find it sad that all the new generation listens to is shit music the doors for life

  • i completely agree with you, im 15 and i wouldnt trade the new bullshit souja boy or whater the fuck its called for this The Doors all the way

  • @spartanjaws Its funny too that they think that "old" music is shitty too.

  • @spartanjaws Most kids my age think this "Old" music is shitty. All I can do is shake my head. The world is becominga corrupt place

  • still the greatest american rock n roll band

  • The Doors are truly legend. In 500 years mankind will still listen to them.

    Television children fed.

  • @LacrosseKeeper12 television children fed... truer words never spoken by others

  • @LacrosseKeeper12 I know that I will be LOL

  • Love this track...

  • True artists, making art. This song is like a miniature play...

  • ok i admit it, the Doors are as good as the greats like Floyd Zeppelin the Beatles.

  • @nikesvvoosh so are u saying they are great too? cuz they are great

  • @nikesvvoosh Nah, the Doors are good, but not at the level The Beatles were in terms of talent.

  • @nikesvvoosh Why would you need to admit that. It shouldn't even need to be considered.

  • @nikesvvoosh of course man tss the doors is my favorite band

  • @nikesvvoosh they are a part of the greats man

  • @nikesvvoosh i think the doors are better :O

  • @nikesvvoosh A good as The Beatles? Dude, The Doors piss ALL OVER the f**kin' Beatles!!

  • @truesouljs HAHA HELLL YEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH

  • @nikesvvoosh The Doors ARE Greats like Floyz, Zeppelin The Beatles, and The Stones.

  • @nikesvvoosh could we imagine a world without the Doors? I know I cannot!

  • @generationaluv Technicly if The Door's never were we wouldn't know the difference. lol uMad bro? jk jk, i won't be a troll..

  • @TheSquadalahMan we wouldnt know, but there definitely would be a big difference. you may or may not want to believe it, but if ANY band so much as existed, it was important to the furthering of music. even down to a little shitty local band or a sellout group of douchers. even if all it does is make it so you dont want to hear that music or want to play something different. druggie bands pissed off edgers and made a big footing for alot of punk metal and modern hardcore for example.

  • @incomprius Lol i agree with you completely i just felt like being a technical douche, but you are definatly correct in your saying. without The Doors, or The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, every band in existance, everyhting would be changed completely, now no one will ever know weather it's for the better that certain bands exist and others don't but i'd like to believe that the way classic rock turned out was better than some of the other ways it could have gone.

  • @TheSquadalahMan Music is a complete and singular energy man. I dont like it when people say "man I wish I lived in (any given decade). Music was better and people were cooler." no dude, everything sucked. most good music is made to deal with shitty circumstances. Fuck shit up in your own time with your own bands or just enjoy whats out now and whats already been made.

  • @nikesvvoosh Ok I admit it,Floyd,Zeppelin and The Beatles are as good as the Greats like The Doors ;)

  • @eddnox they are greats like The Doors

  • @nikesvvoosh there was no question that they were as good.

  • I was mezmerized by it back in high school, and I still love it today..... :)

  • i love this song, thanks for addin bro

  • LOL You Tube always wants to shut me up (good luck with that, dudes). A classic for all times.
