  • God I love Norm as a commentator.

  • one of the sickest matches in PBA. big nasty vs. the smoothest power player of all time

  • I wonder if these guys watch this...

  • thumbs up if u think wes malott should be named mr. hook

  • you know that these speeds are all RELEASE speedsbtw, so take off about 3mph and thats the DOWNLANE speed, which iswhat your shown at most bowling centers without a CATS .So when your down your bowl and the speedo says your bowling 16 your release speed is about 19 not so far off the pros . . .

  • @wickedfan5172 I met him at my bowling center a few years ago, he's friggin' awesome dude!

  • i love how when norm is commentating he always states the obvious. lolz

  • tommy jones will surely throw a faster ball than 19 or 20mph, spare ball is at almost 30 miles an hour

  • haha, i must be wierd, cause the higher my swing, the less revs i get, it also goes slower if i raise my swing. my speed is about 14-18 MPH, just watch my vids ^.^

  • oh my goodness look at that 8 pin

  • this bowling stuff rocks

  • the only bad thing about having alot of revs is that if u miss ur mark...some times u will be scrwed

  • the cool thing is though

wes malott and tommy jones revs are all natural

thay don't so anything extra to put that many revs on

  • well jones' back swing i think helps put revs as well as speed on the ball because the momentum the ball is coming down at and then your follow through is faster too and i have found that it has put so many more revs on my shots. so i play around the same line as i play 11 mph when bowling 14 mph - im 14 and weak so i dont get a high ball speed

  • Putting revs on the ball is all about strenght, hand position, and back swing

  • we all know that

what im saying is that these bowlers put their hands in that position, and have that type of backswing without actually trying to, they do it without any uneeded force, which is why they are pros

  • @basebowler not backswing, acceleration through to the release from the backswing.

  • tommy is reving the shit out of the ball

  • Ya know it's ironic. Randy says that "this shot is gonna tell a lot about this match" and Wes leaves a stone 8. He ends up losing by leaving a stone 8, if I remember correctly.

  • in case your blind he left a light 2 at the end that made him lose

  • tommy jones is amazing he gets so many revs on his ball and still drives with his legs in his shots

  • Wes Can get a lot of revs too and so can Jason Couch and Sean Rash, and if you think those guys are amazing then you probably haven't seen Robert Smith. When it comes to RPM he's in the 600's. Im a power player and im lucky if i can get rpm up to about 400-450 at 15 mph, but then again im only 17.

  • no one cares how good you think you are

  • you dont throw it hard enough to get more rpm

ands its almost impossible to get that much rpm at 15mph, these guys get so much on it because they are averaging 18,19,20 mph

  • Those guys get so many revs on their balls. I'm not a rev bowler. I bowl outside in. At my lanes the conditions are dry on the outside and oily inside. I get a ton of rotation on the outside though.

  • no duh, it's called a walled shot

  • It's funny, because Norm duke beat out Tommy Jones in the motel 6 roll to riches, heh.

  • Tommy Jones and Wes Malott have a huuge advantage over the smaller bowlers. Norm Duke v. Tommy Jones, TJ everytime. TJ is gonna get Walter Ray some day.

  • Are you sure? How does TJ win "every time" on a smaller bowler? I'd actually vote for Duke; being shorter is an advantage! The lower you can get to the line, the better.

  • absolutely

  • Haha,, nah,, its not getting lower to the line,, its about hitting ur target consistent,, length isnt that much of an advantage factor.

maybe the length of your fingers or hand but not body length :P

  • you got it completely wrong, the length of your fingers and hands don't matter, its all about getting the ball long, which helps with longer armes

  • Long arms hurt timing. All ball reaction is made in your fingers and their follow-through, anyway, not your arm.

  • it really depends on the lane condition too, on a dry shot, the person who gets the ball longer down the lane is going to have a better chance of throwing a good game. a person with long arms, such as walter ray williams jr., will get the ball longer than a bowlier with shorter arms, such as norm duke. This difference could mean the difference between a flush shot and a 4 pin.
