@Implacable17 the background is just a regular black background, the spots are purple coraline algea growing in the tank, u need to have live rock with purple coraline algea on it in the tank and then to make it spread and grow i used Purpleup at night
mandarin? hmm... i wouldnt necessarily go ora mandarins because they arent guaranteed to eat frozen. to keep a good pod population, a refugium would be really helpful, and you can always try to train a mandarin to eat frozen, but you need lots of patience and sometimes they might not even eat at all except for pods and starve. Even riskier in a smaller tank. for the anemone you need to hve excellent conditions; maybe wait more, but since im writing now, im sure your tank has been established
@Link4681 looking forward to posting an update soon i havnt had time because ive been finishing my masters degree and working full time so its been rough doing updates ill probebly get one up mid may after i graduate the tank is looking pritty good a little different rock work, glass has alot of coraline algea that i need to take care of witha clean razor blade and im thinking about redesigning refugium due to some minor headaches ive been having with noise
@macruzjr ok well good luck with that. If you really want to try the mandarin put some chaeto in the refugium and let the pods thrive there. I think it's good if you dumped some live pods in there to reproduce as well by feeding them phyto plankton every few days. also chaeto helps lowers nitrates so its helpful in the long run. for the anemone be careful; i've heard of them actually eating mandarins a few times
if you still plan on getting a mandarin you gotta make sure your pod population is up, or you can try to order an ora tank raised one that eats frozen foods.
@gprime22 I see alot of pods on the glass in the tank but idk if it would be enough for a mandarin...my plan is to add more live rock so that there will be more places for the madarin to graze and also add some live rock rubble to a corner of the tank...i notice my fish stay on the left side of the tank alot do u think my power head is too strong its an koralia evo 750
@macruzjr i notice your fish tend to stay behind the power heads flow, do you also have your return comming in from that side to? making the flow only going in 1 way. it also could be that there's not alot of structure on the right side of the tank, so not alot of places to hide over there. and i think a mandarin in a 29g would destroy your pod population unless you had one hell of a refugium
@gprime22 Gotcha i do have a refugium with a huge ball of chato and a small live sand bed, im plannin on adding alot of live rock to the refugium to help supply tank with pods but going really slow cause everything is sooo expensive the return is on that side as well, i think im ganna add a koralia nano power head on the other side or do u think i should go with another koralia 750?
Hey all please comment and drop some feedback on my plans, im thinking about adding a JBJ ato auto top off system to the tank and another 750 koralia evo power head...not sure if i should get a smaller power head because the 750 seems very powerful

I suggest feeding them pellet foods because flake food can get a little messy and cause nitrate problems
