I imported a beautiful frog eyed sti wagon for a friend of mine with 18k kms on the clock 2 years ago very very rare sight in these parts in sti guise. he's selling it now with only 40k kms on the clock or about 25k miles for 7k euro's prices are gone to shit here, an sti just ain't what it used to be in this current climate

alrite.. As im good friends with my tuner who only works on evo's and wrxs. I'd have to say subaru engines arent good. Cyclinders (4th) is very shitty from 06-08 stis. when you have to upgrade your pistons and everything else in your engine just to get 370whp to be reliable. How is that a better build??? i have 400whp on my evo and just headstuds. And it is very reliable, my DD. Sorry but he get customers that blow their new sti motors stock. More than 1 so something is wrong

as i cant speak for the 06+ owners, i am running around 430whp on a stock block, the only think upgraded is the clutch. have been for about 2 years. i have heard about the number 4 cylinder running lean on 06+ STIs, but most i heard about the dealer covered all costs. i also was talking about an all over "better built car" including interior parts, suspension. all that good stuff. all my DSMs left a lot to be desired on the insides. where as my STi i think is infinatly nicer than evo interiors

well i think both interiors pretty much suck. But if i was trying to go with more luxury i would have gotten a BMW. I wanted a car that was already track ready. The evo's interior reminds me of a race cars interior, which is shitty but they arent trying to be more luxurious. Few gauges and an aftermarket audio system and that cleaned up the interior enough for me.

I test drove the sti as well but i wanted a racecar and the evo felt it was trying to be what it was meant to be, a racecar...

Well i cant say what happened to the wrx im guessing bad driver killed his car twice or something from the look of it but i know from experience at a Mitsi dealership that the evo's transmissions and clutches cant hold down the power they produce. I Replaced at least 10 evo clutches within a few months of their purchase from the dealer all with disintegrated clutches and two with cracked transmission cases like the one in the video and all NOT covered under warranty. Don't buy evo they suck.

'02-'05 WRX's had problems with the 2nd gear synchro.

On paper the subaru looks better (preformance wise). However the Subaru doesn't put out as well as the evo.

Now if we're talking about the new Subaru, that car had a 2.5L engine, which helps reduce the turbo lag, which in essence should make it faster.

The truth of the matter is that it honesly doesn't matter. It's mostly personal opinion of the car. Cause they are virtually the same.
