I dont know what all you keyboard racers are complaining about with regards to his riding style/skill...ive watched this 3 times. he clearly should have shifted up to 2nd at 3:25 but that was the only part where i thought he missed. it was smooth and he was high in the power band the entire time in second gear. that is the nature of the track. 2nd gear goes to like 125mph or some such madness. this track is a lot of smooth turns. Yea he rode pretty good but looks like he made a mistake at 2:39. He should have brought it down one more gear. He had no grunt trying to get out of that turn while in 3rd gear. He switched down to 2nd gear going in to that next turn. I think he went in too hot and was focused on slowing down rather than getting all the way down to 2nd as he should have. Great riding either way !

@ridgebackmamba kwaka's are better now than ever. In fact 2011 is the first time that the zx10 is the ridirs choice for superstock racing championships. With major frame and geometry improvements being the main advantages the powerfull motor and traction control and anti whelee are superb added fetures. A zx10 currently leads the british superstock 1000 championship, something that has always been dominated by other manufacturers till now.
I'll be the first to say that Kawasaki just entered the next generation of SS bikes with this......looks, performance, handling, brakes, frame, etc....all 22nd century thinking....now the rest need to catch up (except the bmw, but its ugly as sin, very 90's looking)
...for those who think that can ride better than this guy, is ok to brag him about his riding style, but dont say s***t if you...1) dont have a bike, 2) cant ride 3) ever ride a circuit like this one.

The RPM's are not going to hurt the motor at all but he should use the clutch for the 1-2 shift. It's too wide a spread between the gear ratios not too. And yes, he can damage the dogs and slots on the gears. All the other gear changes are fine to shift clutchless if you know how. I don't hear an ignition interrupt, or the tell tale pop, so it has no quickshifter. Editors... clueless but get to have all the fun
with the ergonomics of sport bikes i dont get how you can ride them so fast...im more use to dirtbikes where its more upright...does anybody agree with me? or is there a reason for the handlebars being the way they are?
The fact that the tach starts to flash once you get to the shift point is bad ass. This is the first I knew that it did that. Wish my bike had that on it. Kawi really out did themselves on this bike.

claimed max power is 13000 with torque at 11,500. everybody knows that manufacterer specs are always excagerated. so you can safely assume that max power on this settles between 9-12000 and not 7-10 which i guessed at

I'm no pro, and i dont ride track.....but when i do hwy ramps im normally in like 3rd gear as I approach the ramp, then downshift to reduce a little speed and keep my revs a little higher so i have enough punch coming out of the corner...and then I shift up again.
This dummy was riding the whole track in second...and then boucning off the rev limiter in 1st gear......wtf?

Ive always liked Trevor, back in old PB days, but if this is how Trevor rides a track now, then Im sorry, but I feel my Daughter could beat him.
That little peddle on the left is to change gear. I have seen ZX10 vids on youtube of US journo's really riding the nuts of these bikes, not just revving them to bits.
MCN you did a great job NOT adding rubbish music, and the HD was great, but the contents was almost laughable.
The tüp can not drive which is always in first gear and in the red area of the new times should give me then I show him how I'm going because of the predecessor oh KAWASAKI looks matter to me clearly after you see it!! THX
I like the new LED style tach. It looks like it is much easier to see. The visual indicator of all the LED's flashing when the bike hits the rev limiter is also a nice feature to see. I don't know if they have the capability to set shift points or not on the lights, but if it does... that would be icing on the cake!
Also Thumbs Up for NOT adding music to the video and allowing us to listen to the bike itself! :-)

Amazing how Kawasaki had no steering dampner on the 04s. Head shake almost threw you into the asphalt.
Worse yet, the front rim bearings broke apart. MAJOR RECALL!!!
Bet you this though...........The 04 still rapes all the years after. Kawa tamed this bike down major.

@pclarke0046 yh but he is always close to a corner so in a 1000 cc you don't need to shift gear

I was thinking the same thing. When you get that high in the revs, the bike has no more power to give, so change early.
Trevor was doing almost the entire circuit in 2nd. Thats not right at all.
