  • Wow ! that's awesome, what programm did you use for adding the motion blur ?

  • were did you get you doll and thats so cool how u did that :)

  • @korahline1 Thanks so much! and amazon.com

  • @Quitoman cool thanks for telling me :)

  • @boolengleng some duck tape on the bottom of there feet or some middle magic around there feet

  • I have 2 of those bendy dolls but my question is how did you get her to stand while you animated her?

  • @Quitoman Did you make the doll yourself?

  • @mimi4393 nope, NECA was selling coraline bendies. :] i own one, the one in the raincoat! ^_^ you can get them on amazon's website, and they have different face-plates you can change and interswap depending which dolls you have. there's: raincoat coraline, casual, starry sweater, and pajamas. :p the others are more expensive though. raincoat coraline is cheaper, so i guess if ya wanted one, you could get her if you don't wanna spend about $70 or more...

  • what's the music? adds to the creepiness...

  • Umm what FPS are u useing 24 or 28? or something inbetween? nice job were u gonna add any foley "Sound" effects to steps? Or not bc of the time? ty Im working on a Stop motion short film and input would be nice :)

  • where did you get that doll? I WANT IT!!!

  • scary

  • what programm did you use for the editing???

  • @TheSJproduction Yeah it was pretty tough, I had to make the rig myself. Always great to see stop-motion on Youtubes :D

  • lol!! look at how she walks! XD like she's drunk!

  • that was cool

  • Awesome just gotta get more practice and you'll do better

  • she kicks her legs up high thumbs up if ya agree

  • she kicks her legs up high

  • question uummmm how did you get her expression to change and the eye movements

  • @lpslover911 the face is removable ao u can change the position. but if u can't take the face off, then use a toothpick or something to move the eyes

  • That's pretty good. Abit static, but very well done. With practice, you should be able to get it working fluidlly. . . . Not to get the wrong picture, just constructive critisizm ^^

  • so is the doll you use made the same way they made the movie puppet? and dose it come with replicable faces?

  • @KaelMacmahon amazon.com

  • that... was... creepy... funny and cool.... but creepy

  • @TheSilsen I just bought 2 dolls.

  • @TheSilsen yeah they were only like $12 each tho, u can easily make a stop motion with just one doll though, that's what I did before.

  • how do you get the face to come off? i tried and im afraid i'll break it!!

  • can see open her mouth and move her eyes

  • I think the 4th one with less tint and more motion blur looks the most realistic.

  • It's supposed to come off. I had to glue her hands to the steel armature I made in order to make this video.

  • hi! im a big fan of coraline, and i'm hoping to get these dolls for christmas, including the starry sweater one. i was just wondering, how do you get the face plates off,and will it damage the doll? great animation!

  • No not really, the faceplates are meant to come off.

  • @scribblehearts95 omg im a big fan too!! i hope to talk more with you do you know where to buy the dolls?

  • AWESOME ANIMATION

  • did she have transparent hair

  • i wish i could work at laika 2

  • just a suggesstion, if you had the 3 in. wybie doll, you couldve put him in the back to make him look far away, then she turns around, waves at him, and then they both run off the screen. :D

  • 3 in. wybie doll is PVC and isn't bendable. so he'd have more like slide off the screen lol.

  • i love Coraline an A+ for youre movie 0:14

coraline waves hi i got a vudu Eli doll Eli`s

    my name

  • Thanks

  • wow dude thats awsome!

  • hey btw whats the name of the song i want it anyone know??

  • End Credits by Bruno Coulais. He does all the songs on the movie except for The Other Father Song. That's by They Might Be Giants.

GO BUY THE SOUNDTRACK IT'S AMAZING!

  • AWESOME stop motion! I only own the one with the sweater. how did you keep her from falling without the stand?! mine always falls face first.....XD. But anyway, nice video! i enjoyed it.

  • If you pause it at 0:13 you can see some clay on her foot.

  • pretty good keep it up!

  • Did you put some sort of support on her soles to keep her from tipping over? It looked like it, I've tried getting her to stand on her own, but her stupid big head won't let me xP Nice job anyway, though some of her movements seemed a little clunky, though I doubt I would be able to do anything like this (I only own the raincoat version, so it would be with limited face-motion anyway.

  • kewl i really want a coraline doll but i need to buy lk a persant for my friend cus itll be her bday

i guess i just have to wait to get at least 1

  • if only the dolls had hair like in the movie. then you could move it to look more realistic.just an idea though.

  • Yup I know, but the doll was $14 so it's not going to happen. I'm sure the real doll from the movie is hundreds of dollars if not into the thousands by now for sentimental value that it was in the movie.

It took the puppet makers like 6 months to make a single doll for that movie lol

If I had the real Coraline puppet I'd be making WAAAY better movies!! I'll tell you that much.

  • oooooh okay :) awsome vid! i want to learn how to do stop motion.oh and what is an armature?

  • This is really good stop motion! :D Hmm... now for some (cough) "helpful" critique from a girl who's never attempted stop-motion and doesn't know what she's talking about.

:D I think that the leg and arm movements were very awkward, but idk how you could fix it.

Also, I love the facial expressions, but I feel that they go to quickly from happy to curious, with no gradual change.

    Am I making sense?

But still! Great, great job! I hope to see more! :D

  • I couldn't really get the facial expressions a gradual change since I only have two faces to work with. Thanks for watching tho!

  • Thanks, but I made this video mostly to show off some effects in Adobe AE and show the difference in frame rates.

  • wow soo how did u make dah coraline stand by herself without using the stand that comes with it......

  • I used sticky tac to help her stand. It was really hard to get her to stand up for each frame though.

  • You mean her entire head can come off so that i can place it on a wire armature?

  • Yep. but you gotta use something like sticky putty to get her head to stick on to the armature body.

  • You do great work. i had no idea that the doll was bendable. i had gotten one for my girlfriend because we love the movie so much but it was sitting on our book shelf in the box the whole time. and then i see your video and was so inspired the i bought a new one for myself so that i can animate something with it. once again great work

  • Thank you! I recommend replacing her bendy doll body with a steel wire armature. That's what I did for this video. It's still possible to make stop-motion with the bendy doll but it's not as fluid as using a steel armature and a spool of the wire is like $5 :)

  • Is stop motion pro on Mac? I thought I saw it on the website....
